Reviews

Jane and Ian gave us a very warm welcome on arrival. The cottage was first class, very comfortable with good quality furnishings. We loved the view from the cottage overlooking the Camel Valley. The location was excellent for all areas of Cornwall. Thank you.

Mrs N,

Great location for visiting North Cornwall and exceptional views. Lovely cottage and friendly owners, good weather a bonus.

Mr Graham C,

Location

If ever there was a place to fully appreciate the stark beauty of the Cornish landscape, Bodmin Moor has to be it.  With endless sweeping vistas in every direction, tumbled outcrops of granite, and inviting paths and tracks to explore, this area of Cornwall is a walker's paradise.  The famous Jamaica Inn is sited here, with all its literary and historical associations.  With plenty of sheep and moorland ponies wandering freely (be sure to keep your dog under control!) you can almost imagine you have been transported back to those bygone days.  More recently, of course, the moor was used extensively for filming on the new adaptation of Poldark.  When the dashing Mr Poldark gallops across your screen, you may well be seeing the scenery of the moor in the background. A large part of the moor has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.  This region also has its fair share of Arthurian legends, another facet which lends a mysterious air to the landscape, and an extra depth to Cornwall's rich and varied history, and of course who can forget the rumours of the Beast of Bodmin Moor? The many other attractions, including the National Trust's Lanhydrock House, the verdant and flourishing Tamar Valley, historic sites such as castles, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, and plenty of evidence of Cornwall's mining legacy, make this area a must-see.
