Description

School Cottage, formerly part of the village chapel and school until 1905, was built around 1850 of Cornish stone and slate.  Inside there is a light and airy feel, with a wood burning stove in the living room, chapel-style roof beams and lovely soft furnishings which add to the overall charm.  The cottage also boasts a stylish snug to relax in and a modern wet room, as well as a family bathroom.

The nearest beach in Trevone is only 3 miles away and a great walk starts just over the road from the cottage, down behind the church and then along the creek to Padstow.  Little Petherick is a delightful Cornish village with slate-hung, pastel coloured houses sheltering at the head of the Petherick Creek.  Its beautiful church, Hotel Inn Bistro and Molesworth Manor (which is excellent for cream teas) are all within easy walking distance. It lies just 2 miles from the picturesque medieval fishing port of Padstow which has many pubs and award-winning restaurants nestled in its warren of narrow streets and alleys, including Rick Stein's famous seafood restaurant. There are many activities available in the area, including sailing, tennis, horse riding, deep-sea fishing, speed boat rides, bicycle hire and windsurfing.

Jet Ski tour at Charlestown with Cornwall waverunner safaris!

Mrs Tina H,

Wonderful week in your lovely cottage, a much needed change of scene. We and windy weather with the occasional burst of sun and warmth. Walking and cycling was just what was needed!

Location

Padstow is arguably now one of the best-known of Cornwall's holiday destinations - a working harbour still retaining the character of the fishing industry while also managing to reinvent itself as a modern holiday destination. Padstow has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker, with several beaches along the Camel Estuary, where you can also have a go at a range of water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides, sea-life safaris and the ever popular Jubilee Queen. You can indulge your passion for food at an excellent selection of restaurants in the town, which is now the base for a number of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth.  If you're looking for more active pursuits, you can cycle the Camel Trail, the route of the old railway line running between Padstow and Bodmin.  If walking is more your thing, there are many walking trails and routes waiting to be discovered, and if you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to explore. Gaining popularity in recent years is the Padstow Christmas Festival, now spread over four days, with cookery demonstrations, food and craft market, and entertainment.
