Description

What a stunning little Cornish gem. Beautifully furnished to the last detail, this is a perfect holiday destination for a couple and their four-legged friend. Situated on Bodmin Moor only 1.9 miles from St Breward, where you have access to the local village shop offering a wide range of goods including local produce which you can even order online and arrive to find your groceries delivered. Located within the shop is a North Cornwall Heritage Coast and Countryside Service information point where you can ask about local walks. There is also a pet friendly public house, The Old Inn. Steeped in history, it has been catering to weary travellers for centuries and is now renowned for its great food and all day Sunday Carvery. Within a couple of miles, you could join the Camel Trail at Wenford Bridge. 18 miles of disused railway line along beautiful countryside and estuary all the way to Padstow, the Trail is suitable for all ages and abilities. Two of Cornwall's best known landmarks can be explored on the Moor - Rough Tor and Brown Willy that rise up to 1360 feet and are the highest points in Cornwall. There are superb views and on a good day both coasts can be seen. You can walk to both directly from Little Irish.  The enclosed garden provides a lovely haven for those warmer evenings, in the cooler days/evenings you can cosy up in front of the woodburner and watch the ever changing scenery. A 20-minute drive will find you in the pretty market town of Wadebridge or you could visit Rock and catch a ferry to the bustling fishing port of Padstow making this property an excellent base to explore more of the Cornish Coast.

Reviews

Well situated, quiet, with easy access to walks and the Moor. Very well appointed cottage.

Rev P,

Lovely cottage in a rural, peaceful location. We found Little Irish perfect for our short break and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well equipped cottage in a great location. The scones on arrival were fantastic too…thank you.

Mr C,

Fabulous barn/cottage - Ideal location

Mr M,

We had a fantastic stay at Little Irish Cottage. We were welcomed by Dawn and Gerry and a delicious cream tea was also waiting in the cottage. The location on Bodmin Moor is fantastic with so many walks to do from the cottage and also lovely beaches not too far away. The cottage was just perfect for the two of us plus our five month old lab puppy and it has a secure enclosed garden which was just perfect. The open fire was a bonus on the colder nights. We will definitely return when the dog is a bit older so can walk for longer distances.

Mrs A,

Absolute Gem of a place. Perfect place to stay to explore Bodmin Moor and its surrounding areas. Beautifully decorated, furnished and scrupulously clean. The bed is so comfortable. It has all the facilities that you require for your stay. The owners are wonderful hosts and the home made Scones are a cheeky little treat for you to enjoy on your arrival. The nearby village of St Brewards is a lovely place with a cracking pub which serves excellent food to suit all tastes, with really friendly staff happy to go the extra mile. Thoroughly recommend staying at Little Irish so much so that we didn’t hesitate to book a second stay later in the year.

Mr M,

What a lovely cottage with lovely owners. The quality of the equipment, furnishings and cleanliness could not be faulted. Gerry and Dawn have thought of everything. The location was remote with only cows and horses for company. Just as we had hoped. The weather was atrocious, however, we enjoyed a lovely sandy beach dog walk at Baby Bay and Trevorne. The coastal path at Tintagel offered amazing views. Food and staff at Shipwrights in Padstow were lovely. Would recommend and stay again. Many thanks.

Previous Customer,

Little Irish is a wonderful little cottage. The photographs just don’t do it justice!! Fabulous cream tea provided as a welcome, lovely views and a well stocked wood pile for the log burner which was just the job as we waited out Storm Ciaran!! Highly recommend.

Previous Customer,

Lovely cosy barn conversion with fantastic walks straight onto the moors. Host are great - not intrusive and the cream tea provided was fabulous.

Mrs C,

Our stay at Little Irish was relaxing and comfortable. Interior was furnished beautifully and seating, bed etc was very comfortable. Additionally, our hosts were very warm and welcoming. And best of all the views were stunning! We stayed in October, so we could light the wood burner, which provided a very cozy atmosphere!! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Mrs D,

Lovely property in a lovely part of Cornwall. Very quiet. Super hosts, very friendly.

Mr F,

What a beautiful, cosy, well-appounted cottage situated in a stunning secluded location. Everything we needed was provided for and we were greeted warmly by our hosts, Gerry and Dawn. Our two Golden Retrievers had a fabulous time too with a secure field adjacent to the property for their use. A gem of a retreat - looking forward to being able to return as its location is perfect for exploring Cornwall.

Mr B,

Could not be better, everything has been thought of, anything you think is missing just look harder. Lovely garden and great for dogs, though our 1 year old pup was led astray by her new friend the gorgeous Paddy. We will be returning.

Mr F,

Dawn and Gerry were perfect hosts and the property was beautiful and perfectly situated for exploring Cornwall and the Moors. Garden is enclosed so perfect for the dog and he particularly enjoyed running around with the owner's dog Paddy. We will definitively look to book again.

Mr M,

What a fantastic little gem! Great base for the week to cover the west coast of Cornwall. Very well equipped cottage with everything really well thought out. Highly recommend.
