Description

Carnevas Farmhouse dates back to the 1800s and is Grade II listed.  It sits prominently and proudly in the landscape and boasts many original features - such as moulded plaster cornices and plasterwork and a beautiful staircase with a wrought iron balustrade which is lit by a stunning feature window complete with hand painted glass depicting a farmyard scene. The farmhouse is adjacent to Carnevas Holiday Park which offers on site facilities during the holiday season including a shop and bar, which serves meals.  Porthcothan beach is just over 0.5 mile away by road, for a quieter and more scenic route, take the permissive path across farmland which links up with the South West Coastal Path.

Carnevas Farmhouse sleeps 5, with a maximum of 4 adults.

GROUND FLOOR:
Lounge: Smart TV, DVD player, open fire.
Kitchen/Diner: Built-in electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, Lavazza Coffee Machine (eco pods).

FIRST FLOOR:
Bedroom 1: Super Kingsize (6' - can be unlinked to form 2' twins if requested at the time of booking) plus 1 x small double futon sofa bed, bedside units, wardrobe, chest of drawers.
Bedroom 2: Twin beds (3') (can be linked to form 1 x Super Kingsize 6' if requested at the time of booking), bedside units, chair, dressing table, wardrobe.
Bathroom: Bath, separate thermostatic shower, basin, w.c.

GARDEN & PARKING: Parking for 4 cars comfortably on the drive. Enclosed garden with garden furniture.

Pet Welcome: Maximum 3 (medium size) £35 per week.
Power and Heat: Electricity included in rent; gas fire central heating and hot water. Open fire in lounge. 
Bedding and Linen: Pillows & duvets included; bed linen and towels provided (please bring your own beach towels). Please order unlinked beds in advance.

A large, spacious property with all amenities for a family. It has comfortable accommodation and a kitchen comprehensively fitted for self catering including dish washer and washing machine as well as cooker and microwave. An open fire in the lounge is available and an initial supply of logs is supplied. The TV in the lounge has good reception and there is a DVD player with a selection of DVD's.

The house is large, spacious, light and very well equipped. Great facilities and all in working order. We stayed in February and the house was warm for such a size and we were also able to light a fire each night making it comfortable and able to turn heating off. Ample parking, nice peaceful area with easy access to other towns, villages, and Portcothan beach and coast paths. Owners were amazing and extremely helpful with any queries. Thank you for that. Will definitely be booking to stay again.

This is a lovely period property with great countryside views. Spacious & comfortable, a 3 minute drive to the nearest surfing beach & cliffs paths for walking. Really well equipped. I will definitely return though personally will stick to out of season as I'm not sure if the neighbouring caravan park would be a bit noisy in summer!

This is truly a lovely property and is as good as it looks in the pictures. Garden is great and secure for the dog. Internet and reception was not great, however if you are in holiday who needs internet. Views are stunning, local beach is lovely. Various stunning walks from the property although not a lot of info in the property on local attractions. Next door is a campsite which does have lots of information. Kitchen was well equipped and beds were comfy. We have already booked to return next year.

A terrific house- fascinating, quirky details , well equipped kitchen, comfy huge beds, fluffy white towels. Within ten minutes walk of a beautiful beach with small shop, beautiful cliff walks, and a short drive to St Merryn, Padstow etc. We rebooked for next April immediately.

A lovely comfortable home from home. Excellent position for beach and cliff walking. Our dogs loved the huge enclosed garden while we sat in the porch in the February sunshine. Despite being out of season we found lots of local cafes, beach shacks and places to eat. We will definitely go back.

Location

Porthcothan Bay is another of those locations which is just waiting to be discovered and explored. Within easy reach of Padstow and St Merryn, and a short drive up the coast road from Newquay and Mawgan Porth, the sheltered, sandy bay at Porthcothan is another of the many family-friendly beaches that can be enjoyed along this part of the coastline. It is also dog-friendly all year round, and boasts picturesque cliff walks and outstanding scenery. The area around Porthcothan is also home to a wide variety of sea birds, and the cliffs are often grazed by ponies and sheep, which helps with conservation of local plant life. The nearby village of St Merryn and the town of Padstow offer an excellent choice of pubs and restaurants, in addition to the local pub, the Tredrea Inn, which hosts live bands and also has a beer garden where you can sip your drink while admiring the superb views over the bay. Porthcothan Bay is also close to the village of St Eval, where anyone, whatever your age, can have loads of fun on the Karting Circuit, and when you're done, you can visit nearby Kernow Chocolate where you will find a wide range of yummy chocolate treats!
