Description

Templemore sleeping 6+2 is less than a 10 minute stroll to the dunes behind the long expanse of Widemouth Bay, which is an ideal beach for swimming, surfing and relaxing.  This lovely family accommodation offers two lounges, ideal if the younger members of your party need their own space as well as a large garden.  The seaside town of Bude is about three miles away reached either by a scenic drive along the coast or by footpath across fields and then along the Bude Canal. The coastal footpath is challenging in this area but well worth the effort as the views are spectacular and the rock formations fascinating.

Templemore is perfectly positioned for families who want to explore Cornwall and adventure on the beaches, with both the patrolled beaches of Black Rock and Widemouth Bay offering surf lessons and you also have two pubs within a 15 minute walk of the house.  A fantastic fish and chip van also stops outside twice a week to tempt you with mouth watering battered cod.

Location

Bude has been a popular holiday destination since the 19th century, when train travel began to allow people much more freedom to explore the country.  It is still well-loved by its many visitors, whether you prefer to relax and hire a beach hut for the day, or participate in something more active, such as surfing and other water sports, horse-riding, cycling or maybe a round of golf or two. You can get the ferry out to Lundy Island, a good place to see local sea and bird life including puffins, or perhaps hire a rowing boat or pedalo to take out on the canal.  While down by the canal, pop into the Bude Heritage Centre to learn about the history of the area, and look round the art gallery. Visitors can also bag a bargain at Atlantic Village, and if you're here out of season, this popular shopping centre has an ice rink, and is open seven days a week.  During the season, there is also a farmer's and craft market on the wharf, where you can pick up souvenirs of your trip. For something a little different, a local geology expert offers guided tours of the area.  Or you might like to take the scenic circular walk along the Planekeeper's Path, along the canal and back to the town via winding footpaths.
