Reviews

We have stayed in many 'cottages' over several decades and this one is by far away the cleanest. There is an extensive range of equipment making it suitable for adults, children, and dogs. There is everything you need for self-catering including washing, coffee/tea making, cleaning etc. It is a very homely property with extremely comfortable beds, stacks of games, videos etc for rainy days, full central heating and even a gas fire. We consider it great value for money, with parking and even a range of consumables left by the owner. It is just over half a mile easy walk to the harbour, pubs, shops, and restaurants, and is very quiet throughout the day and night with lovely views across fields. It also has a fully enclosed rear garden. For all these reasons and more, we have stayed at Lowen Cottage five times and highly recommend it.

Mr F,

We have stayed at Lowen cottage on many occasions and it is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. Helga is a superb host, so friendly and welcoming. Helga goes that extra mile making the cottage home from home with lots of extra treats.

Mrs N,

Lowen Cottage is the best property we have ever stayed in. A wonderful welcome including treats not only for us but for our dog too. The cottage is warm, cosy and extremely well equipped. A short walk from the harbour, lovely beaches and the Camel trail. Everything you need for a fabulous holiday and we will be back.

Mr B,

Lowen Cottage's owner, Helga, offers a service second to none. She manages the property personally so everything is exceptionally clean and of a good standard. Everything you could possibly need is provided even including dog bowls, treats etc! Helga offers a very warm welcome on arrival. The location of the cottage is very good with lovely views over fields from the rear. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Mr David E,

Lovely clean and comfortable house within easy reach of Padstow. Very friendly and helpful owner/housekeeper Helga. Many helpful and welcoming treats left for guests and pets.

Mrs Deborah B,

This is our tenth visit to Padstow. The owner of Lowen Cottage is magnificent and welcoming and thoughtful - that is rare. They literally thought of everything and it is the little things that made our visit special. Padstow is nice with beaches, beer and food. The year go by bt the charm still remains. The weather can not ruin a stay it doesn't rain in side a pub. Thank you! Emma

Mrs Emma T,

Mrs Philippa H,

We have visited Lowen Cottage many times over several years. It is our favourite place to stay in Cornwall and having stayed in other properties in the Padstow area, Lowen Cottage is definitely the cleanest, most comfortable and best equipped. The host, Helga, always gives a warm welcome and provides extra little touches such as welcome treats for us and our dog which makes walking into Lowen Cottage such a treat. Location is excellent for walking or driving into Padstow and exploring the beautiful north coast.

Ms N,

Lowen Cottage provides everything you need for a wonderful holiday. A great welcome from Helga to a warm, clean and best equipped cottage we have ever visited. A short walk to the harbour and lovely beaches could not want more . We will return.

Mr Linda B,

From a wonderful welcome to a week of just what we needed. Home from home here at Lowen Cottage. So comfortable, well equipped and warm. Visited our usual haunts, met up with friends and thoroughly relaxed. Thank you Helga for everything especially the Metacam for Clarence - you truly are the best of hosts. Next New Year booked - see you then!

Mrs Jill S,

Helga the owner of the cottage gave us such such a lovely welcome to her lovely cottage it just made us feel so welcome in felt like home a big thankyou to Helga

Mr Nick K,

Cornwall is my favourite place on the planet. Lowen Cottage is the best home from home, we all love it so much for its relaxed atmosphere. Helga's welcome is so warm and Jay loves all the treats. The weather has been kind so we managed a dip at Hawkers Cove and a much longer swim at Harlyn. It was freezing but magnificent. We will be back in October next year if not before.

The Hawke Family,

Location

Padstow is arguably now one of the best-known of Cornwall's holiday destinations- a working harbour still retaining the character of the fishing industry while also managing to reinvent itself as a modern holiday destination. Padstow has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker, with several beaches along the Camel Estuary, where you can also have a go at a range of water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides, sea-life safaris and the ever popular Jubilee Queen. You can indulge your passion for food at an excellent selection of restaurants in the town, which is now the base for a number of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth.  If you're looking for more active pursuits, you can cycle the Camel Trail, the route of the old railway line running between Padstow and Bodmin.  If walking is more your thing, there are many walking trails and routes waiting to be discovered, and if you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to explore. Gaining popularity in recent years is the Padstow Christmas Festival, now spread over four days, with cookery demonstrations, food and craft market, and entertainment.
