Miss C,

We wanted a peaceful week, we certainly got that ! Very friendly arrival from Sophie . We took plenty of wood for the wood burner which in the evenings created a lovely atmosphere. Great location 5 miles to Bodmin and supermarkets galore, Tintagel , Boscastle , Padstow and many more are close by. We would easily recommend Hetties to anyone , Thankyou.

Mr A,

Location

If ever there was a place to fully appreciate the stark beauty of the Cornish landscape, Bodmin Moor has to be it.  With endless sweeping vistas in every direction, tumbled outcrops of granite, and inviting paths and tracks to explore, this area of Cornwall is a walker's paradise.  The famous Jamaica Inn is sited here, with all its literary and historical associations.  With plenty of sheep and moorland ponies wandering freely (be sure to keep your dog under control!) you can almost imagine you have been transported back to those bygone days.  More recently, of course, the moor was used extensively for filming on the new adaptation of Poldark.  When the dashing Mr Poldark gallops across your screen, you may well be seeing the scenery of the moor in the background. A large part of the moor has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.  This region also has its fair share of Arthurian legends, another facet which lends a mysterious air to the landscape, and an extra depth to Cornwall's rich and varied history, and of course who can forget the rumours of the Beast of Bodmin Moor? The many other attractions, including the National Trust's Lanhydrock House, the verdant and flourishing Tamar Valley, historic sites such as castles, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, and plenty of evidence of Cornwall's mining legacy, make this area a must-see.
