Reviews

What a delightful little cottage Seacrest is? From the minute we walked in, we felt right at home. With a lovely, slightly "retro" feel, it was so cosy with stylish soft furnishings and beautiful lighting, the gorgeous sofa was perfect for an afternoon snooze! The logburner made January days extra cosy but the storage heaters are really efficient and warmed the house very quickly when we needed it. We took our dog so the lovely long garden was a bonus and made it easy to get out onto the path down to the beach at the bottom. Small but perfectly formed, the cottage has everything you need, ideal for two people, I wanted to move in!

Mr P,

Comfortable cosy cottage. Very warm in the storms

Mrs H,

Fantastic location, incredible views and beautifully decorated cottage. The cottage had everything we needed including a brilliant log burner and views towards the sea. We loved staying here and hope to book again soon.

Ms A,

Third visit to Seacrest. Lovely little cottage. 10 min cliff path walk from the garden to access to beach, surf, cafes, pub, fish & chips and the village shop. Porthcothan, Padstow, Watergate, Newquay etc only 15-20 min drive away. Wood burner was a great cosy extra for our October stay.

Mrs V,

Everything you need Lovely garden Fantastic location

Mr R,

Quirky and quaint this cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We slept really well and so did Dave the dog. Interesting and lush garden which was almost dog secure but we managed to block off where our little dog could hop over into next door’s garden. A walk down to the beach via the back garden turning right and following the road down was convenient, but coming back up is challenging in the lovely heat! The beach is wonderful and the surf a joy! A really lovely holiday even though it took us 10 hours to get there. Coming home we did it in 6 hours,

Mrs D,

Seacrest is a lovely property in a good location. This is the second time we have been and both times have been very good.

Mrs D,

A lovely property furnished with a typical cornish style which added to the holiday. There was an issue with parts of the garden being a little overgrown with it being towards the end of the season, but within days of contacting the specified person given in the information pack, someone attended to mow the lawn and cut back the offending foliage.

Mrs Sara L,

Location

If you're seeking a holiday in the archetypal picturesque country village, St Mawgan is an excellent destination. You can have lunch at the Falcon Inn, a traditional pub with a warm welcome and excellent menu, walk through leafy lanes, past the village green and cricket ground, visit the Japanese Bonsai Gardens and craft shop, and round the afternoon off with a delicious cream tea from the local Post Office and Tea Room.  You would never guess that it's a short drive from the town of Newquay or the nearby airport. Down the road, Mawgan Porth village gives you a complete contrast.  The rugged cliffs that border the sheltered sandy bay invite you to enjoy bracing cliff walks and eye-catching scenery.  If you get tired, you can stop for fish and chips, or a meal at the Merrymoor Inn.  There is also Merlin Golf Club, and a pitch and putt course for those looking for family fun!  The entertainment continues in the summer holidays with Mawgan Porth's Donkey Derby and the annual duck race- choose your (plastic!) duck and join in the fun! Nearby Bedruthan Steps is a further example of the dramatic and spectacular coastline for which the area is renowned.  When you've exhausted yourself with all these possibilities, why not pamper yourself with a luxury spa treatment at either the Bedruthan or Scarlet Hotels- you've earned it!
