Description

Captains Cottage has been extensively refurbished early in 2018, including new hand-made kitchen, fully tiled luxury shower room, new upstairs WC and complete new flooring throughout the ground floor. The cottage is hidden away in a private courtyard in the heart of Padstow - you would hardly know it was there. The spacious area at the end of the alley comes as a complete surprise. Captains Cottage has a pleasant outlook in this quiet nook and even has a small patio area for sitting out. The wealth of delights available in Padstow are therefore easily reached and it is ideal if you just want to forget the car completely during your holiday. Padstow is blessed, with a selection of first class restaurants, shops and inns as well as being ideally placed for a number of beautiful walks, beaches, the ferry to Rock and the Elizabethan Manor house of Prideaux Place. Otherwise, just down the road there are more lovely beaches - ideal for families as well as surfing - and Padstow is well positioned for easy access to all parts of Cornwall. Captains Cottage is attractively presented in a modern cottage style and is very spacious for 4 persons having 3 bedrooms, shower room, (as well as an outside warm dog shower), a small boot room and additional separate loo. Reviews

We couldn’t have asked for a better week in the most gorgeous accommodation: Cornish Horizons communication was amazing. The owners of the cottage were incredible: from communication via email and text, to the lovely welcome gifts, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect week away for our minimoon! We will be back!

Miss E,

Very accommodating for dogs, and practical as while asking that dogs are kept down stairs a baby gate is provided to enable you to do this. Not something that we have experienced before and found really helpful. The hose outside also provides warm water to allow you to shower you pups in comfort, very thoughtful and our boys definitely appreciated it, and their welcome packs!

Mrs D,

A lovely, clean, cosy cottage in a great location in the heart of town with harbour, shops, restaurants etc all within a few minutes walk. Quality furnishings and fittings and all the necessary mod cons.

Mr C,

Amazing cottage. Fourth time we have been here. says volumes. We love it at the cottage.

Mr S,

The cottage was very well positioned for the town. It was spotlessly clean.

Mr M,

Captains cottage is a beautiful cottage with a wonderful homely feel, it is very well equipped with everything you will need. The location is absolutely perfect right in the centre of Padstow, would definitely recommend this cottage as a perfect holiday getaway.

Mrs T,

Beautifully decorated well equipped cottage hideaway in the centre of buzzing Padstow. We spent a very happy Christmas at Captains Cottage, tasteful festive decorations and a wonderful welcome pack filled with local produce greeted us, even a little treat for our dog. Quality bedding, comfy beds and sofas, a well equipped kitchen and a fantastic power shower all made for a wonderful break away. The courtyard would be a bonus in the summer months, we did manage a couple of morning coffees outside in the weak but welcome winter sunshine. All communication with the owners was friendly and informative, we felt very well cared for. Thankyou.

Mrs B,

Fantastic property in great location. Standard of the property was very high. Clean, well equipped and everything thought of to make our visit enjoyable. Great place and would recommend to anyone.

Mr W,

Location

Padstow is arguably now one of the best-known of Cornwall's holiday destinations- a working harbour still retaining the character of the fishing industry while also managing to reinvent itself as a modern holiday destination. Padstow has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker, with several beaches along the Camel Estuary, where you can also have a go at a range of water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides, sea-life safaris and the ever popular Jubilee Queen. You can indulge your passion for food at an excellent selection of restaurants in the town, which is now the base for a number of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth.  If you're looking for more active pursuits, you can cycle the Camel Trail, the route of the old railway line running between Padstow and Bodmin.  If walking is more your thing, there are many walking trails and routes waiting to be discovered, and if you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to explore. Gaining popularity in recent years is the Padstow Christmas Festival, now spread over four days, with cookery demonstrations, food and craft market, and entertainment.
