Description

Three storey turn of the century family house in the conservation area of Padstow.  Ideal for large family parties, this spacious, well equipped home, recently improved and refurbished, has a lovely large kitchen/diner, a second sitting room with views over the rooftops to the estuary and a small patio garden which benefits from sunshine most of the day.  In the evenings the sitting room at the top of the house is great for adults to chill out with a glass of wine while the children watch TV in the lounge.  The property is only a minute's walk to the harbour, shops, pubs, cafes, the ferry to Rock and numerous highly recommended restaurants, including Rick Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant. There are beautiful sandy beaches in the river Camel estuary, island cruises, fishing trips and nearby surfing, sailing, kayaking, golf and horse riding. The Camel Trail, which leads all the way through to Bodmin along the route of the old railway line, starts from Padstow and is popular with walkers and cyclists who enjoy the scenery and the wildlife through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Reviews

Excellent location for easy access to the town centre. Very well equipped, especially for cooking and dining. Good for families and welcoming for dogs.

Mr C,

We stayed as 2 couples with a dog and were very impressed with the quality of the furniture, fixings, bedding and equipment available. We enjoyed early evenings in the top of the house with views over the estuary. Evenings we enjoyed playing games around the kitchen table. On the doorstep is a great choice of pubs and restaurants but we particularly enjoyed the Harbour Inn with Live music on Thursdays and Sundays. We experienced a small drainage problem which was sorted immediately for us. Everything was really fabulous. 2 families would love it.

Mrs D,

Location

Padstow is arguably now one of the best-known of Cornwall's holiday destinations - a working harbour still retaining the character of the fishing industry while also managing to reinvent itself as a modern holiday destination. Padstow has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker, with several beaches along the Camel Estuary, where you can also have a go at a range of water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides, sea-life safaris and the ever popular Jubilee Queen. You can indulge your passion for food at an excellent selection of restaurants in the town, which is now the base for a number of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth.  If you're looking for more active pursuits, you can cycle the Camel Trail, the route of the old railway line running between Padstow and Bodmin.  If walking is more your thing, there are many walking trails and routes waiting to be discovered, and if you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to explore. Gaining popularity in recent years is the Padstow Christmas Festival, now spread over four days, with cookery demonstrations, food and craft market, and entertainment.
