Description

Nestled in the rolling Devon countryside this wing of a pretty, thatched 17th century Devon Farmhouse provides an extremely spacious holiday home for friends and family to enjoy. Nethercott Manor Farm is still very much a working farm with cattle and sheep and is conveniently situated just a few miles off the main North Devon link road making it an ideal location for those wishing to explore the wonders of Exmoor and its surrounding villages, towns and coastal beauty spots. The bustling market town of South Molton is a scenic 6 miles drive, which offers a wide range of amenities from a supermarket, swimming pool, bank and boutique style shops, or if it’s just a village shop/Post office you’re after than Bishops Nympton is a closer 3 miles. Back on the farm, visitors have access to over 160 acres of land, direct from the garden, which the four-legged family members will love, especially the stream to cool off in the summer months.

Stepping through the front door you get an idea of how spacious the property is, with large tiled hallway, cloakroom off with downstairs WC, and curved staircase with large church style window. The kitchen is beautifully decorated and in keeping with the farmhouse style, with exposed wood flooring, long dining table, large centre island and Aga which can be used to cook on, however there is a separate electric cooker with hob if you prefer. A utility room with washing machine, dishwasher and butler sink along with another study area is located off the kitchen, providing plenty of space for family pets to have their own area of the house, or for children to plug in their own games console. On the west side of the house the living room provides comfort and style with crushed velvet sofas, wood burner in stone inglenook, large flat screen TV and patio doors which open up onto the garden. Upstairs there is a large landing area with two bedrooms off, one King size with ensuite and garden views and a further Super king which can be changed into twins on request. There is also a family bathroom with bath and separate WC. Outside there is a large garden with seating area and swing bench, a gate leads through to the next field where guests are welcome to walk down to the stream at the bottom and enjoy evening walks in the surrounding countryside.

Accommodation: Ground floor: Entrance hall. Downstairs cloakroom with handbasin and separate WC. Living room with Smart TV, woodburner and two 3 seater sofas. Kitchen/diner with Aga, electric cooker and hob, American style fridge, freezer, filter coffee maker, large centre island with butler sink and dishwasher. Utility room with butler sink, washing machine and tumble dryer, additional room with desk and chair. First floor: Carpeted stairs with bannister, Bedroom 1 with King, built in wardrobes Smart TV and ensuite shower room. Bedroom 2 with Superking (can be changed into twin beds on request). Family bathroom with bath, heated towel rail, handbasin and separate WC which is accessed through the bathroom.

Facilities & Services:  Linen and Towels. Oil CH. Wi-Fi Broadband. No smoking. 4 pets welcome. Smart TVs. Enclosed lawned garden with patio area. Highchair, travel cot and fixed stairgate. Complimentary basket of logs. Garden furniture. Private parking for 2/3 cars. Short breaks available. 3pm arrival time. Arr/Dep for weekly bookings is Friday.

Reviews

We and our 2 dogs had a great week at Nethercott Manor. It was spotlessly clean with a well stocked and roomy kitchen. The living room was a generous size with big, comfy sofas. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable and we slept like logs all week. Lots of room inside and outside for the dogs to roam around. The walks around the farm were beautiful. Marie and her mum were lovely and answered any queries very quickly. The location was perfect for quiet times but only 15 minutes from South Molton and other places with supermarkets and pubs and restaurants. Thank you very much for a great week. We look forward to staying with you again.

Mrs W,

Wonderful cottage, this was our second stay, and we will be back next year.

Previous Customer,

A very welcoming property! Owner lives on site and is readily available to answer any queries. The house was just exceptional… historic and in a lovely setting, spacious with mod cons but without losing its special character. Lots of evidence of its past, especially in the hall. Loved the old rocking horse and the panelling. Very dog friendly and the garden is totally dog secure with plenty of room to run around. We had a week of very mixed weather but the house was lovely to come back to, even on wet days. We loved it.

Mrs P,

A lovely, well equipped cottage in a peaceful rural location which felt like a hone away from home. While relatively expensive it was worth every penny to feel as at home as being at home.

Mrs Rebecca V,

Lovely very big character farmhouse clean and comfy very peaceful location with child and pet safe garden. Would recommend.

Mrs T,

The cottage was excellent. The cottage was vey clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed, beds were comfortable. Large garden for the dogs. The owner came to say hello and make sure we had everything we needed. Lovely walks for the dogs. Hope to go back next year. Would recommend this cottage.

Mrs E,

We really enjoyed our stay with lovely walks and very dog friendly

Mr W,

The cottage is very relaxing. To waking up and opening the curtains to see the sheep in the next field to coming back from a day out and putting the fire on. This is a stunning property and very relaxing. Everything you need is there. Would highly recommend staying here to friends and family.

Miss S,

My wife and I plus our 2 boxers Ruby and Bryn had a fantastic week at Nethercott Manor. The property has everything you need and is very clean, welcoming and spacious. The owners welcome pack was appreciated and Marie and her Mum were very nice and on hand if needed. Definitely recommended, thank you.

Mr M,

We have just spent a week at Nethercott Manor with our 4 dogs, it was very dog friendly with acres and acres to explore outside the large garden. We spotted deer as we walked on the land, the dogs loved to paddle and swim in the stream and pond area. The location is also fantastic as you are in between the Exmoor and Dartmoor national parks both in which we visited. The property was clean and hugely spacious with beautiful furnishings, fully equipped and with an AGA and log burner. we took plenty of throws and blankets to cover sofas to keep furniture clean. We and the dogs had the best time, we had the best walks and will certainly been visiting again I'm the near future. Marie the owner was very welcoming and was a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for a wonderful stay! See you again later in the year.

Miss N,

Superb location, very quiet area surrounded by fields. Main 'A' road about 2 miles away. Long tarmac driveway leading to property. Nethercott Manor is a lovely property, very spacious. The sitting room is very cosy with two large comfortable settees and large wood burner, french doors overlooking the garden. The kitchen is huge with an Aga and full size electric cooker, central island and large dining table with french doors overlooking the garden. Two very large bedrooms one with ensuite and both with comfortable beds. Good sized bathroom. A good sized garden, fully enclosed and dog/child friendly, plenty of garden furniture and an ideal place to sit in on a sunny day. Cattle and sheep roam the fields surrounding the garden. Good walks from the front door. Would thoroughly recommend this holiday rental.
