Packed with pubs, popular cafés, shops, and a selection of acclaimed local eateries (including the Michelin star Ode Restaurant & Ode Café just down at the bottom of the long driveway), the quaint fishing village of Shaldon serves up everything from fine cuisine to wholesome crab sandwiches!

The idyllic setting serves as the perfect base from which to enjoy plenty of scenic dog walks, as well as classic beach days out on Ness Cove Beach (reachable via the Smugglers Tunnel) & Shaldon Beach. The passing South West Coastal Path also offers an excuse to take to the coastal trails, as well as enjoy a picnic and some bird watching along the way. The gorgeous fishing village also invites you to take to the water; either with a swim, ferry trip to Teignmouth off Shaldon Beach, canoeing, sailing or water sports.

A park and recreation ground, 18-hole golf course, a small local conservation zoo, a host of local beaches and the Homeyards Botanical Gardens & Tea Rooms can also be found literally on the doorstep!

In August time, Shaldon succumbs to the joviality of the annual Shaldon Regatta too, so be prepared to be swept up in the merriment!

Visitors are also within a 20 minutes' drive of the lively attractions of Torbay. The surrounding area is also awash with beautiful National Trust homes & gardens, beaches, coastal tourist attractions and sport activity centre to explore and enjoy.

Nearby Dartmoor also offers a dynamic day out of walking, mountain biking, wild swimming and extreme sports.

Notes: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £500, which is payable to Blueriver Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, and is refunded within 4 working days of your departure.

Reviews

Great property, comfortably sleeps 8, very dog friendly. Shaldon is a lovely location with walks, pubs and cafe’s plus a great butcher, no need to cross the river to Teignmouth much better is the strenuous walk along the coastal path to the Thatched Tavern.

Mr W,

Wonderful property, clean, well equipped and with plenty of space. Excellent location for walks, or get out and about by car.

Mr R,

The property was amazing. The welcome gifts were lovely. It was exactly what we were looking for in Shaldon. We would suggest that the information on your website about the property is updated - the photo's do not truly reflect the outside space; the garden is very steep and the trees/bushes around the property are much more overgrown. The road to the property doesn't clearly advise that the house is at the top, and is also really overgrown and brushes up the cars as you go up and down. The parking is also really only for 2 large cars or 3 small. We had two people who had mobility issues and the walk up to the property (when not driving up the private road) was a problem due to how steep it is. So it's only suitable for people with mobility issues if driving up to the property every time. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The only reason we wouldn't stay at this property again (with the same group) was due to overall accessibility.

Mrs Laura B,

Every single moment has been lovely here! Can't wait to come back again soon. Just the most beautiful house in the most picturesque setting. Our kids loved it, we loved it and our new puppy, Gerald, was in his element! Thanks so much Sally. We will recommend this place to everyone!

Lynny & A

What a beautiful house, very stylish + comfortable, love the decor. Perfect for two families. Such a lovely part of the world, can we come back??!! Thank you very much indeed, just lovely! xxx

Thoroughly fab No 1! Friends, drink, dance, chillin, seaside + food, what more could we want? :)

BBQing on the terrace + sunbathing. Loathe the steep hill climb, but I'll get over it. Shaldon is beautiful! Very HYGGE - read the book - loved it! Now also want a 'SHE' shed - read that book also! Thank you for a beautiful home!
