Stunning location and amazing views, the cottage had everything we needed with great social spaces, perfect to a getaway with friends.

We had an amazing time at Mount Hooley Lodge, with family to celebrate my 60th Birthday. The Log cabin is fabulous, their is so much kitchen equipment, more than you could ever need for a weeks stay, really brilliant. The log burner and underfloor heating make it so cosy. The hot tub was fab and so was the Kota BBQ Hut. The views are wonderful. We all loved our stay. Its in a great location for walks too. Great Hospitality. Thank you so much. We will be back.

Excellent & luxurious lodge, amazing views, equipped to a very high standard, we used the BBQ hut and everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The owners are just lovely and make you feel so welcome on their farm. Great local walks, a 10-15 min walk into Alston. I can't recommend this lodge enough you will not be disappointed!

From the photos I knew this was going to be an amazing lodge but, WOW, the views are absolutely breathtaking! The lodge is 5* star luxury and more than adequately equipped. The hot tub was lovely on a cold night then hopping back into the lodge with the log burner making it all cosy! You can see the thought and detail that has gone into making this lodge into the perfect retreat and the owners should be proud of what they have achieved! Perfect hosts, always on hand if needed but never intrusive and gave us clear instructions on every aspect! Excellent place to just kick back and de-stress and fabulous for our fur babies with lots to explore nearby. Thank you for hosting us and I’m sure we’ll be back!

What a beautiful place to stay. The location is absolutely stunning. We always travel with our own kitchen equipment, especially if we travel at Christmas. That was an utter waste of time as the kitchen is so well stocked. This has been the ownly holiday home we've visited, which was warm on arrival, due to the environmental friendly heating :) Thank you very much to the lovely owners for sharing this fabulous cabin, which was a real home away from home :)

A fabulous property in a stunning location. We loved exploring Alston, the local footpaths and running routes and venturing further afield in the North Pennines. A very well equipped property, fully enclosed front and rear, made for an excellent holiday home.

This is our third time at mount hooley and again it didn’t disappoint. Firstly the lodge itself, just a beautiful home. Exceptionally well equipped, and the little bbq hut is a lovely addition since our last visit. Plenty towels and robes also provided. Then there’s the views!!! Amazing, day and evening. Although twilight is a good time for owl and bat spotting. We even got to see the Aurora one night. Thanks for a lovely stay. I’m sure we’ll return, and soon hopefully.

The lodge is gorgeous, the views captivating in all weather. The deck is huge and our dogs were very secure in both the front and back of the property. This is on an active farm so sheep very close by. The owners are available if needed, but are not intrusive. Beds were very comfortable (and we are fussy), plenty of hot water for showers. Kitchen well equipped to cook at home but only a 10-15 minute walk into Alston village. We would definitively like to stay here again, the location is great to explore our beautiful English countryside.

The most amazing, peaceful holiday! It's the perfect place to recharge and the views are like something from a postcard. The local area is extremely dog friendly and the lodge has everything you could need. We are already excited to book again.

Lovely holiday property, everything you could wish for and more. The views are stunning and what better way to watch the sunset over the mountains than from the lovely hot tub. If you want a quiet peaceful place that’s away from it all this is definitely the place to go. Great walks for the dogs too.

Amazing week for my mams 60th with the family. Evening views and stunning, house wonderful & hot bubbles plentiful. Host is incredibly friendly & helpful, I would definitely recommend to others.

We all really enjoyed staying a the lodge and also exploring Alston and the surrounding area. Can recommend the South Tynedale Railway and also the Cumberland Inn for food and their fabulous beers!

Fabulous losge, every facility we needed. Often confused our 19 month old cry with the lambs! Hot tub was great fun, some beautiful sunsets too. What friendly hosts- we enjoyed chats as we passed on the road and waved across feilds. Completed by a 1000 piece Disney jigsaw during showers. Had a "cinema night" watching Top Gun 3 and on a sheet on the curtains! Poppy the dog loved seeing the sheep and lambs while on her lead, of course! Being a golden doodle she saw lots of her "cousins"!

Thank you Marion & Chris. The lodge is superb- has everything you could want and more! Views amazing- certainly gave us the opportunity to chill. Has a really good pizza takeaway from Alston House which may be handy to know. Would love to come back- thanks again!

Thank you Marion & Chris, the lodge is so lovely- seeing the view morning, noon & night is really relaxing. We had some nice days out, Pooley Bridge, Hexham, Talkin Tarn Country Park, plus we had daily walks with the dogs by the river in Alston. Mount Hooley Lodge is so well equipped, it is perfect in every way.

Perfect place with perfect views. Mount Hooley Lodge is one the best cottages we have visited. Hot tub AMAZING! Beds were so comfy and it has everything you need and more. Lovely hols too! What a hidden little treasure.

We visited with friends this weekend and it will be hard to leave. The property is very well equipped and location on top of the world is a great description. We arrived on the Friday night after a hectic week at work and immediately felt at home. Hot tub just finished the day off and totally relaxed us all for a very comfortable nights sleep in four beautiful bedrooms with very comfortable beds. A short walk into the village on Saturday with some lovely little shops and a selection of different walks for all abilities in the area. This truly is the most relaxing place to come and I will definitely be booking it again soon for trips with other friends as well as the group this weekend who will make this a regular trip to wind down. Thank you to the lovely owners who made us so welcome and have made a beautiful experience for others.

Wow. This lodge is simply stunning. The view breathtaking, and location secluded but close to a beautiful, bustling town. Everything was immaculate. Beautiful!

Unique experience in a luxurious, authentic Log Cabin in a picturesque setting you thought you’d only find on the back of a postcard. The hosts were extremely welcoming and made the place feel like our own. From relaxing in the hot tub to sitting around the log burner, the cabin gave us the setting to create memories with loved ones that we will cherish forever.

Mount Hooley Lodge is simply stunning. It is extremely well appointed, spacious and has the most wonderful views. The bbq hut is a welcome addition and the hot tub perfectly placed to watch the sunset. If you can drag yourself away, there are lovely walks from Alston along the Rivers Nent and South Tyne. Special thanks to Chris and Marion who are the most wonderful hosts. The only downside was having to leave, but we will be back!

We visit this property yearly and have done for several years. It never fails to impress. Chris and Marion could be nicer or ore helpful, even when we fail to find the the drawer of kitchen utensils or leave a dressing gown in the lodge ! We will return.

It is fabulous, our 3rd visit. Feels like coming home...

Absolutely stunning building and location. Exceptionally well equipped and excellent hosts. Watching the sunset over the valley from the hot tub beautiful. We couldn't recommend it higher fantastic week.

This property was perfect and just what we were looking for, secluded and tranquill; beautiful, cosy and homely. The owners were nearby should we need anything but left us to enjoy our holiday in peace.We would definitely visit again
