Description

The Albatross in Woolacombe village has spectacular uninterrupted views of Woolacombe Sands from almost every aspect of its large plot that includes two sun decks. To further enhance the holiday experience a traditional hot tub, sauna, and cold plunge pool are all located on a glass screened sun deck allowing your party to make the most of the stunning 270 degree views. An ideal property for ten adults, two families, or indeed a holiday for the extended family.

This sizable detached 4-bedroom house is made for those who love to be beside the sea and relish not having to use the car. Just 200 metres from the award-winning Woolacombe beach, visitors are attracted by surfing, paddleboarding, sunbathing and sand-castle building, although this is also prime walking country with spectacular coastal trails past the colony of basking seals starting literally on the doorstep. Guests can easily saunter into the centre of Woolacombe and enjoy refreshments at the independent bars, cafes and ice-cream parlours, or perhaps pick up supplies to enjoy back at the house, inside or out.

In the house the lounge offers plenty of comfy seating and main TV with surround sound and streaming services. In the bay chairs look out to sea beside a small desk suitable for working from home. There is a Yamaha keyboard for the musically inclined. In the open plan kitchen-diner, a large picture window stretches across the front of the property and the dining table and chairs have been carefully positioned to enjoy the breath-taking sea views. There is a fully equipped and stylish kitchen, perfect for rustling up your favourite meals and a double-sided wood burner which makes this welcoming space cosy at any time of the year. An adjacent family room is well equipped to entertain the children with TV, books, a range of toys and table football. French doors lead onto the upper decked area with large wooden table, benches, chairs and a swing seat. Steps lead down to a large sundeck with hot tub, sauna and cold plunge pool and plenty of comfortable seating to relax and enjoy the view.

The Albatross shares its fantastic location with a sister property The Nest, a one bedroom annex that sleep two is is set in its own self contained garden behind the Albatross. Larger groups staying in the Albatross may want to take advantage of the additional bedroom and/or work-from-home space the Nest offers and can book both properties together here. All bedrooms in the main house offer sea/coastal views with bedroom two in the main house benefitting from a wonderful glass screened balcony with table and chairs, an ideal place to enjoy your morning coffee.

Outside there is a balcony on the main house and the two sun decks all with magnificent sea views.

Bedroom 2: Superking bed, double aspect room with window and full height sliding doors onto private balcony with table and chairs, giving wonderful panoramic ocean views.

Bedroom 3: Twin zip 'n' link beds which can be converted to a superking on request (please advise when booking). Bedside tables, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Wonderful views across the bay towards Morte Point.

Bedroom 4: Twin zip 'n' link beds which can be converted to a superking on request (please advise when booking) and two full size bunk beds. Views of the bay and out to Lundy Island.

Family Bathroom with bath, separate corner shower cubicle, WC and basin.

Outside: The Albatross has an upper deck with dining area, swing seat and bench all overlooking the sea with steps down to the fully-glass screened sundeck with plenty of seating, traditional hot tub, sauna, cold plunge pool, standing shower and separate foot shower.

Further outdoor shower and hanging area at rear of main house, ideal for rinsing wet suits and sandy feet.

Pets: One or two well-behaved dogs allowed downstairs only.
