Description

Button Barn is a cute, two bedroomed barn conversion situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Bratton Fleming seven miles from Barnstaple. Sleeping four people, the barn is on a 60-acre traditional beef and sheep farm where the owner welcomes guests to explore the neighbouring land and look out for the varied wildlife including the well-known Exmoor red deer. The spacious living room has a beautiful wide chimney with wooden lintel and a woodburning stove, plenty of comfortable seating, exposed stone work and a beamed ceiling. The modern kitchen/diner has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Open stairs lead up to the first floor which has both of the bedrooms – a Double and a Twin – and the shower room. Both of the bedrooms have lovely views, the Double has an apex ceiling and the twin has a sloping ceiling and velux windows. Outside, Button Barn is surrounded by stunning countryside and is just a ten-minute walk from the village of Bratton Fleming with its general stores, pubs and green with children’s play area and assault course. Barnstaple, the commericial and agricultural centre of North Devon, is about seven miles away. It is a charming place that comfortably blends a handsome past with an energetic, present-day buzz. It has a mix of cutting-edge retail outlets, long-established family owned stores and little boutiques. The pannier market hosts local food producers interspersed with dozens of cafes. At weekends, Barnstaple makes wandering the streets a distinct pleasure, with performers and musicians out to entertain. If the weather turns nasty, you’re well provided for in the town. Let’s Go is Barnstaple’s newest family entertainment complex. There’s also a lovely 1930s cinema in town which offers four modern screens showing the latest releases as well as live screenings of major theatre productions.

Reviews

We had a lovely week. The cottage was Just what we wanted. Hopefully we will book it again next year.

Mr F,

Great views, cottage spotlessly clean, comfortable and well appointed. Host very friendly and helpful.

Mr B,

We had a fantastic stay at Button cottage, the owner was friendly, helpful and the cottage was as cute as on the pics. It was well equipped and clean sitting on breathtaking views. The kitchen had the standard appliances and crockeries and the bedrooms were spacious and clean. The lounge was very comfortable and big enough for two adults and two grown kids. We will definitely come back as there’s so much to explore.
