Description

On the very edge of the Suffolk coastal town of Aldeburgh, Marsh View is a quaint cottage just waiting to be enjoyed. Accessed via a private lane, the cottage steps back from the hub-bub of the town to enjoy peaceful surroundings and view over Hazlewood Marshes. Utterly perfect for those looking to escape the busyness of life and re-charge their batteries. There is something so utterly charming about Marsh View. Perhaps its' the fact that it stands so still; or its' homely furniture and carefully selected up-cycled pieces that will make you want to return again and again.

An ideal retreat for keen walkers and birdwatchers, Marsh View sits on the popular Sailors' Path - sponsored by Suffolk Secrets. The path leads from Aldeburgh directly to Snape Maltings taking in various terrains, the walk is a must on a visit to Marsh View and is described by Visit Suffolk as “One of the finest Suffolk walks”. Cyclists too will also enjoy exploring the many country lanes to and from Thorpeness, Snape, Woodbridge and beyond.

For a truly relaxing, stress-free and peaceful getaway, we suggest you book your stay at Marsh View today. Pub: 1.3 miles, Shop: 1.3 miles.

Marsh View sits in an enviable position on the cusp of Aldeburgh and Friston. Friston village has a large central green with many footpaths around the village. Just four miles away is the famous RSPB sanctuary at Minsmere. Snape Maltings is just three mile away, a waterside venue for unique speciality shops and the famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall. Snape Maltings offers good food and unique walks alongside reed beds and the tidal estuary. Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten, who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival, which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.

Reviews

Great walks from the cottage. So comfortable and the garden is delightful and totally dog secure. That is so important for doggy people.

Ms T,

Great location, interesting cottage and we could see that it will be a nice garden in the summer. We would visit this cottage again.
