Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.

Reviews

We had an amazing stay celebrating our Golden Anniversary. Beautiful house, very comfortable and great location. Thank you.

Previous Customer,

A wonderful stay in a beautiful home -- thank you.

Russell family,

Margaretting is the perfect place to stay in Aldeburgh! There are sea views from the lounge and two large bedrooms. The kitchen was very well equipped and flowed through to the generous dining room. Backing on to the shops in the centre of the high street was a bonus for buying our fresh croissants then sitting gazing out to sea to plan our day, what a treat!

Mrs S,

Very pleased with another holiday in Margaretting, apart from the weather which is beyond anyone's control. The new television is a great improvement on last year but it would be useful if there were some instructions. I never managed to find how to access the Freeview from the normal aerial but managed to access most channels via the internet connections. I am reasonably tech savvy (for my age), but my wife would never have worked out what to do. It would be useful for other holiday makers if there were basic instructions on how to access programmes.

Mr Richard F,
