Description

Set into the hillside of Lamorna Cove, The Magazine was once the dynamite store for the local quarry. Now a detached traditional Cornish cottage, The Magazine is a cosy retreat with truly stunning sea views overlooking Lamorna Cove yet only a short stroll in the lovely wooded lane to the famous Lamorna Wink pub.

Tucked into the cliff side, you access the cottage via steep steps up through the terraced gardens. The ground floor comprises of a well-equipped kitchen, dining room with table and chairs, and a traditional cosy living room with woodburner and spiral staircase leading upstairs and separate WC. Just off the living room is a conservatory/dining area from where you can while away the days taking in those magnificent ocean views. If you are lucky you may even spot the seals playing in the waves!

Upstairs there are two bedrooms; one double with balcony overlooking the cove with breathtaking sea views, and one twin. There is a family bathroom with electric shower over bath.

Outside the lush sub-tropical gardens provide plenty of space for alfresco living, with decking, patio furniture. The terraced gardens continue further up the hillside, with various decked areas to sit and make the most of the magnificent vistas. There is a designated parking bay for one vehicle at the base of the hillside and also a designated parking space in the car park near the beach. Please note that access to The Magazine is steep with steps. Children need to be supervised at all times.

Lamorna Cove is favoured by walkers, artists and film makers for its rugged unspoilt charm. There is a cafe down near the harbour and the infamous Lamorna Wink pub is just a quarter of a mile up the pretty wooded valley.

Reviews

The views are spectacular at this property . It is comfortable and well decorated and for us just perfect. I would say that as it is situated on a steep hill ,and the steps to the property are quite steep and the gravel slippy in places too. It would not be suitable for anyone with mobility pproblems. The cove is beautiful and picturesque and the small cafe serves lovely snacks. Its great for walkers and sightseeing. We have been twice and loved every minute.

Mrs B,

Excellent views of the sea. We are going back!!!!
