Description

Little Doric is a pretty cottage situated along a private lane in the centre of the historic market town of Woodbridge. The property is comfortably furnished and is an ideal bolt hole for anyone wishing to get away from it all but still be able to easily access all that the riverside town of Woodbridge has to offer.

Couples can expect a peaceful retreat in this cosy cottage that’s a lovely base for exploring Suffolk’s pretty towns and scenic coastline, starting with Woodbridge where it is centrally located. Meander the picturesque streets, stopping at independent shops, art galleries, restaurants and pubs. Visit the historic Tide Mill on the River Deben and the yacht harbour where you can watch the charming boats bob in the water. Nature lovers will relish a stroll by the town’s river or a trip to Aldeburgh (18 miles) where there’s a shingle beach to enjoy, as well as a lovely town with Georgian buildings. Watch for Aldeburgh’s local fishermen selling their daily catches and maybe take some back with you.

As you approach this cottage, you’ll notice its classic prettiness - which continues inside. The cosy sitting room exudes classic style with its gas fire in a brick fireplace and traditional accessories. For entertainment, there’s a TV, DVD player and CD player. A dining area also sits within this room, featuring a table and four chairs, and the ground floor is completed by a well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a shower over a bath that’s great for soaking. The steep staircase (which is open on one side and has handrails and shallow treads) leads from the sitting room to the first floor, where there’s a cosy and characterful double bedroom with plenty of storage.

Outside, the charming, enclosed courtyard garden boasts a table and chairs you can enjoy a meal or a drink outside on warmer days.

Woodbridge has an interesting shopping centre, with many specialist shops, good restaurants and pubs, together with art galleries, antique shops, town museum, Suffolk Horse museum, an excellent cinema/theatre, large recreation areas and an indoor heated swimming pool.
