Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten, who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival, which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.

Reviews

An excellent, comfortable stay. The place was so well equipped, warm and tastefully decorated. We immediately felt at home. A great base for our walks and strolling into town in the evening. Shops nearby for most of our groceries. The area has so much to offer. We enjoyed dog walks. Lovely shops in Aldeburgh for tasteful knick knacks and food.

Mr F,

It is a lovely place to stay. The kitchen is really impressive and had everything we needed. The welcome gifts were extremely thoughtful and yummy!

Mr W,

Interludes is an ideal location in Aldeburgh for two people. 10 mins walk from prom, or town shops. Tesco and Co-op supermarkets even nearer.. Cosy with a small kitchen and good equipment.

Mr N,

This was our 3rd visit to Interludes so it must be obvious that we rate it highly. Excellent parking, easy to walk to shops and pubs etc, or onto coast path to Thorpeness. We love the decor which is slightly quirky and not your typical seaside holiday cottage. Thanks

Miss C,

Interludes is clean, well furnished and decorated, fully equipped for our needs. Location is excellent for the beach, shops, restaurants within Aldeburgh itself, but also for the surrounding towns and villages.

Mr W,

Very well equipped, tastefully furnished property. Ideal for a couple using as a base for Aldeburgh (15 mins walk to centre) & to explore the many delights that Suffolk has to offer. Footpath to the rear of the property is a pleasant inland route to Thorpeness & can be combined with a return walk along the beach side.

Mr H,

A very well appointed property in a peaceful location. Many delightful off road routes available to the town centre and beach - ideal for dog walking. Highly recommendable.

Mr H,
