Description

Set at the heart of Southwold, close to the rows of colourful beach huts and traditional pier, this attractive property is an ideal retreat for couples and families with young children. Golden sandy beaches, excellent cafes and exciting attractions are sure to tempt you in this charming seafront setting, and a golf course wraps around behind the town for those who would like to practice their swing. A short 0.5-mile stroll will bring you to the seafront where you’ll soon lose yourself amongst the arcades, crazy golf and boutique shops, but venturing further into town will reward you with a charming pier and historic lighthouse. The town also boasts a museum, a brewery, and the iconic Gun Hill Cannons.

Blending chic furniture and contemporary style, this delightful bolthole is the epitome of open-plan living with its cosy seating areas, dining spots and fabulous kitchen. Cleverly divided by a breakfast bar and stools, the formal dining table seats six and is perfect for special mealtimes and family board games. The kitchen has everything you need to rustle up your favourite suppers, even if it's just classic fish and chips from the seafront or a quick breakfast before your adventures. Switch on your favourite show and recline on the sofas, switching to a Blu-ray for a cinema vibe. Upstairs, the first bedroom features a king-size bed, an en-suite shower room and a balcony for sipping drinks under the stars. The main bathroom is a delightful space to unwind after a busy day, and the cosy twin bedroom is also a welcome sanctuary for recharging batteries.

Step outside and tuck into an al fresco feast in the rear courtyard or front garden, perhaps firing up the BBQ for an alternative dining option. You can help yourself to a book from the reading nook inside and make the most of the sunshine, or simply sit back and unwind in the ambience.

Reviews

Lovely holiday home and so well placed in Southwold, very unique to have off road parking and away from all the hubbub of the Southwold crowds.

Mr G,

Excellent location, near to all local amenities. Parking a bonus. A well presented property, surprisingly light and spacious. We will definitely stay here again. Perfectly suits us.

Mr B,

The Haven is a spacious, very comfortable and well equipped cottage, with 2 equally large bedrooms and plenty of storage space. It is very well placed for both the beach and shops but is in a quiet tiny cul de sac. It has the great advantage of a parking space and an EV charger, such a bonus where parking space is at a premium.

Ms G,

Lovely cottage well kept and good location

Past Customer,

The house clean enough. The garden needed tidying, some of the plants growing over the access gate. Location perfect, house well equipped.

Mrs Irene R,

The property was ideally placed in Southwold, close to the beach, shops and eateries, and had the benefit of a parking spot - 5/5 for this. Unfortunately it was let down by the standard of cleaning in that the rear courtyard had weeks, if not months, of dirt and spider webs on the windows/sills/skylight and the floor had not been swept of seagull droppings. The bistro table was also green and looked dirty. The small balcony off the master bedroom, especially the floor and table top, also had not been cleaned. There was as much dirt/bird poo on the day we left as the day we came, so it could not have happened since the clean last took place. We ignored these outside spaces and used the front courtyard instead. I have also given a 3 for Comfort and Quality. The house itself had good quality furniture and was well equipped, though the house is not inexpensive to rent and I would expect this to be so. My score largely reflects noise in that we were woken at 8.00am on the Saturday morning by VERY loud drilling and banging from an electrician working on the property next door. This carried on for some time and we eventually had to leave the house to go and find some peace and quiet and hear each other speak. Definitely wasn't 'The Haven' on this occasion. This also happened, albeit slightly quieter, on the Monday morning but as we were leaving we were up and about anyway. I feel this should have been explained to us as a possibility before booking and the price be reduced accordingly as I've seen on other company's websites. The owner and managing agent must know about this as there was a concrete mixer by the neighbour's garage and, when I looked at the house book on the last morning, someone else had complained of the building noise a month previously. It's a shame the house was let down by these two situations, but it would make me reticent to book again in the future with you, or the managing agent Suffolk Secrets, or recommend to family and friends.

Mrs Debra S,
