Description

Hope Cottage, near the village centre, is a gorgeous period cottage furnished to a high standard with a wealth of character and style. The inglenook fireplace makes a feature of its original traditional bread oven alongside a more up to date electric log effect fire. The stylish contemporary kitchen/diner leads out to the enclosed and fully paved rear courtyard with outside table and chairs for al fresco dining. There is a very useful den/playroom also off the kitchen, with seating where you can add a competitive edge to your holiday or relax and read. Also on the ground floor there is a spacious utility room and cloakroom.

On the first floor there are two attractive bedrooms with beautiful wooden floors and a roomy bathroom with corner bath. The cottage is only one minute from the ever popular Tarka Trail and there is ample secure storage for bikes and surfboards in an outbuilding off the courtyard. There is private parking out back and a wide choice of shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. A great base for families and friends, Hope Cottage is close to the beach and also within easy reach of North Devon's many attractions. The Aggi is one of the many popular pubs in the town, and serves superb food and real ales. On the edge of the village is the thatched Williams Arms, offering fine carvery lunches. The Mariners Arms and The Black Horse are both good pubs, with locally brewed beers on offer. Restaurants include Squires Fish Restaurant, At One dining, The Riverside, SQ and Wild Thyme Café among others. For those who enjoy a spot of history, St Brannock’s Church sits on higher ground overlooking much of the village and you can stroll around the grounds. The Museum of British Surfing is an attraction that is well worth visiting and a short drive away is the market town of Barnstaple, which blends a handsome past with an energetic, present-day buzz. There are numerous street performers, cafes and shops old and new

Reviews

Hope Cottage is easily one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. It was very clean, comfortable and amazingly well equipped. There was lots of space and it was furnished to a high standard. Braunton is so well positioned for exploring the beautiful north Devon coast and Hope Cottage is right in the middle of the village with a fabulous selection of shops, restaurants and other facilities on the doorstep. We would not hesitate to return again!

Mrs J,

Excellent location for exploring devon. The Williams arms pub dog friendly and excellent food

Mrs S,

Delightfully cottage which is deceptively spacious once inside. It's in a great location close to the village centre. I deal for walking, cycling and other nearby towns and villages. This cottage is spotless with a nice little en-suite den/snug room with its own tv. the added bonus is that there is off-road private parking and a fully enclosed garden area. Overall, a great cottage highly recommended.

Mr F,

Beautiful little cottage with everything that you could possibly need. Close to all amenities, shops, restaurants, pubs, fantastic walks. Perfect for dogs as private and very safe garden. Cottage was immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend.

Previous Customer,
