Description

This cosy coastal retreat is a great base for a seaside holiday in Suffolk. Close to Southwold’s amenities and of course the beach!

The Hollies is a pretty traditional Suffolk cottage, set back behind a holly hedge, just over the bridge from Southwold. A charming self catering holiday home with cottage style interiors; three first floor bedrooms offering comfortable, well equipped holiday accommodation. The property is perfect for parties of six - the sitting room is charming with an abundance of period features including inglenook fireplace, wood burning stove and flagstone floor. The well equipped kitchen is fitted with the usual appliances and furnished with a dining table and chairs. Outside there’s a courtyard garden with table and chairs and the added bonus of private parking.

The Hollies is in Reydon, just one mile from Southwold, a traditional coastal town famous for its pier, lighthouse, pastel coloured beach huts and fabulously fresh seafood! The town has some excellent independent shops, cafes and restaurants, be sure to call in for a pint of the acclaimed Adnams beer in one of the local pubs. There are some lovely walks nearby, head off to the beach, stroll to the pub or along the coastal path. This beautiful area of Suffolk has something for everyone!

Reviews

Biggest problem was the cleanliness of the place; the floors, work tops, bath and sinks all needed a clean on arrival. The lounge looked as if it had not been vacuumed in the corners, under the television etc, for a long time. There is a damp patch in the corner of the twin-bedded room on the outside wall. The window frame in the back bedroom was dirty and mouldy (needs replacing.) The mattress topper was stained when I stripped the bed at the end of our stay. Otherwise, good heating and hot water and kitchen well equipped for family cooking.Location is great for accessing the beach and town. The cottage gave the impression it was a cottage for 6 but it was certainly difficult to seat 6 of us round the table in the kitchen-and we had 2 children with us! Welcome pack was appreciated, thank you.
