Reviews

We had a fabulous time at Hollyhocks. It was so quiet and peaceful. Very comfortable and cosy cottage. Spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend it. Our 2 dogs loved it also. Safe enclosed garden that we could let them out into and not have to worry. Thank you for a lovely week away.

Ms H,

Fantastic little cottage. Wonderful enclosed garden. Very clean and well equipped. I loved my stay at Hollyhocks and will definitely return.

Mrs P,

I stayed here midweek with my two dogs and had a lovely, peaceful break. The kitchen is well-stocked and the rooms are clean. The bed was very comfy too. The garden is a decent size and fenced all the way round. It allowed me to play in the garden with my two greyhounds, without fear that they could accidentally get out and run off. The location is good - about a 20 minute walk to the sea to the east. Bawdsey Quay is about a two mile journey to the south. There's a cafe there but I believe its only open Fri - Sun. I'd definitely recommend this cottage to anyone that wants a peaceful break near to the coast. I got chatting to a few of the locals whilst on walks, during my stay. Everyone was very friendly. The Swan Inn down the road is a lovely pub. Decent prices but don't serve food. I think they do a quiz night every Wednesday.

Mr T,

Cute little cottage. Well appointed but unfortunately extremely cold on arrival and took a good 24hrs to warm through. We were just there for a short break so not ideal or as romantic as billed.

Dr D,

Wonderful little place. Everything you need for a single person or couple to stay. Accommodation was warm, clean and tidy. Nicely laid out bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom spotless, with good hot shower or bath. Kitchen compact, but functional. Felt at home within a few minutes, and look forward to returning here next year. Ideal for me visiting my daughters family, as only 10 minutes away from Hollesley

Richard G,

Lovely little place , very cute with everything you need , I enjoyed our stay in this quaint cottage and lovely village Note to company (not part of the review) - batteries need changing in the Freeview remote. - also tho the property accepts pets I would have expected to see some dog bowls etc possible for use we didn’t see that . Didnt really seem aimed at pets, I’ve stayed in many pet friendly places with some beautiful touches for our furry friends , blankets pet bowls etc to make them also feel welcome - just a suggestion tho was a lovely stay

Mrs D,

This is a sweet little cottage. I had a perfect relaxing chill out time. The cottage had all that i needed for my stay and a very comfortable bed. A pretty little garden. An all round winner.

Mrs A,

A lovely sweet cosy cottage in a great area for walking.

Mrs O,

Bawdsey is a perfect location for exploring the Suffolk coast. A visit to Bawdsey key may reward you with finds of sea glass and sharks teeth. A great location for both bird watching and photography. The cottage is well located for a visit to Sutton Hoo an absolute must if you love Anglo Saxon history and watched the film "The Dig." Also remember to visit the Ramsholt Arms where they filmed part of the film " Yesterday"

Mr C,

A lovely, small, cosy cottage. It was well equipped and comfortable. Ideal for couples and an enclosed garden for the dog. We had a very enjoyable couple of days staying at Hollyhocks.

Mrs M,

Absolutely lovely stay at Hollyoaks with Beauty, my staffie. We will definitely be coming back to this peaceful and perfectly located property. Thank you :)

Miss Kerry F,

This was the perfect little cottage for a couple of days away. Great walks and loads to explore on on the doorstep. Great help from the owner and neighbour with any issues, and we especially delighted in the open fireplace to warm ourselves after a long day walking. The bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. It was small but offered everything we needed and really felt like a home from home. Thank you!
