Description

Stunning sea views await you at Hillcrest – a detached house sleeping twelve people and two dogs which is located on a hillside above the village of Mortehoe. Laid out as apartments on each of the three floors, the house can be rented as a whole. On the ground floor there is a lovely open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a woodburning stove, amazing views and plenty of comfy seats for the whole party. There are three bedrooms on this floor as well as a bathroom and separate toilet. The first floor has a second lounge/diner and an adjoining small kitchen. There are also two more bedrooms and a shower room on this floor.  The top floor has a delightful double bedroom, an additional sitting room that has a kitchen area with stunning sea views. With terraced hillside gardens to the side including a raised patio and a further large patio area on the ground level, the external areas take advantage of the position of the house and provide a wonderful outdoor space for alfresco dining and taking in the spectacular view. Within walking distance are three pubs, a village shop and a restaurant. A small secluded bay with good rock pools is a good way to describe Mortehoe. The sandy rocky beach comprises of the perfect combination for some fabulous hidden rock pools teaming with creatures waiting to be discovered.

First time in this location - loved the house and the views. Had a scorching hot week. Lovely to wake up to such great views of Woolacombe and the sea. Would definitely stay there again, perfect for a relaxing break.

Return visit to celebrate a 60th Birthday. We've been here twice before when our children were teenagers and now returned with their spouses and grand children. We have loved the beaches, and coastal paths, and the apartments have been great to return to for evenings of feasting and board games.

What a fantastic week we have had. Between us filled the house which was in a perfect location. We have walked, run, climbed, paddles, built sandcastles, and had a fabulous time. We know the area well, but this is the first time in this house. We will definitely be back.

What a fabulous house. Location is amazing. We have driven through Mortehoe many times but didn't realise what a wonderful place to stay, and walks down to beach, hill up is a workout itself! House was so perfect, clean, well equipped, and we had lots of space for us all, and could have quiet time in the many rooms, perfect!!
