Reviews

Hightide is a lovely property if you need disabled facilities. It's so hard to get a property that provides an electric bed and hoist and it's always nerve wracking when we go anywhere new in case it doesn't have what you've been promised! When we walked in to Hightide all the doors were closed and it looked quite dark and for a moment I wondered if we'd come to the correct property as it didn't look like the pictures on the website! However after opening the doors, I couldn't be more wrong, what you see on the website pictures is what you get, a roomy well set out house that more than accommodated what we needed for my disabled daughter. The kitchen was the best stocked self catering kitchen I've ever been in and it was so nice to have towels and tea towels provided along with a small supply of loo rolls, soap and so on. I would definitely want to stay here again and my daughter is already planning a visit for next year. Thank you for providing such a nice place to stay.

Mrs B,

We really enjoyed staying in this spacious and well equipped property. The location is fantastic being about one minute away from the beach. There are plenty of interesting places to visit with an easy reach. And the welcome pack of wine, biscuits, milk, dips and tortilla chips was very welcome. I am in a wheelchair and it was a real find for us as the disabled equipment far surpasses anything else we have found. I am pretty sure we will be coming back.

Mrs T,

Fab house, well thought out design and the most fully equipped sc place we've been to. Lots of attention to detail and thoughtful welcome gift. Disabled facilities as good as a hospital. Location great. Summer would be brilliant here, right by the sea. We all loved the unusual amusement arcade games on the pier. Great High St. Great pubs . Can't recommend it enough.

Ms T,

This was our 3rd stay at Hightide as a group of 8 friends. The house is very spacious, comfortable, well equipped with versatile communal spaces ideally situated opposite the pier. It’s a short walk upto the high street & attractions. The upstairs lounge offers remarkable sea views with a small balcony. Plenty of parking at the property too & a nice outdoor space if you’re staying in the warmer months. I have no doubt we will be back!

Mrs N,

This property was excellent if you have anyone with mobility issues. This is the first property we have stayed at with a shower bed and it made the whole process so much easier. The kitchen was well stocked, and it was spacious throughout, plenty of room for a wheelchair to be moved around. Location is perfect. Short stroll away from the town and less than a minute to the beach.

Mrs H,

'- website said 10am departure, housekeeper typed note 'its actually 9am due to covid'. We're all nurses and even in the hospital covid isn't a thing anymore. We had to leave the night before because we needed that extra hour to meet the complex needs of my daughter and the house keeping needs as per her note - on the note it stated we had to strip all the beds and empty all the bins except for the mattress protectors. Which once we've stripped the beds were found to be visibly dirty some had stains and hairs from previous occupants - the disabled shower bench was visibly dusty and dirty and once pulled down, a dirty flannel from previous occupants was sitting on the frame - when we arrived, we found a lamp plug to be severely damaged and highly unsafe with pieces of the plug casing missing (picture can be provided of plug) - the tracking of the hoist didn't reach the shower trolley properly - key access pad both at the front and the rear of the house, parked at the rear of the property and assumed the old keypad was how we gain entry. It wasn't clear where we were supposed to go

Mrs Lisa G,

Hightide met the needs of four generations of our family providing us with opportunities to be all together at times while offering the option of privacy and space if needed.

Mrs B,

Perfect cottage for our needs. Shame about the British weather!

Mrs Susan M,

This was an excellent property in a good location out of town but not too far. The property allows grandparents and family to have separate living areas to allow for those different TV choices. The property was warm and cosy and parking was an extra benefit.

Mrs S,

Our second time staying at the property & we've booked it again for next year. A thoroughly enjoyable stay in a lovely, large, comfortable & well equipped property right opposite the pier. We loved the alterations made inside with an additional shower room & toilet and new furnishings. Thoroughly recommend High Tide.

Mrs Amanda N,
