Description

Heather Lea is a beautifully presented 5 bedroomed, detached property just a few minutes’ walk from the award winning, surfing beach of Woolacombe. Set back from the road and nestling within its own grounds this lovely property has plenty of outdoor space and is surrounded by mature gardens. Views of the sea, surrounding countryside and the National Trust headland of Baggy Point can be seen from most rooms as well as the front patio. This spacious home has been completely renovated and refurbished for the 2019 season and offers flexible accommodation for larger groups. All the individually co-ordinated rooms have good quality furnishings and are light and airy.

On entering the property, you immediately appreciate the clean, crisp quality of the workmanship and clever design, whilst oozing style and comfort. Off the hallway is the main, spacious living room with comfy sofas and seating for 10, a flame effect electric fire and 43” smart TV/DVD player.  There is also a HDMI cable for use with a games console, along with a selection of books and board games. The carefully co-ordinated furnishings blend well with unusual light fittings and local prints.  Views extend out to the sea, Baggy Point and over glorious countryside. A further room adjacent brings you into a smaller snug area with seating for 5, simply for “chilling”, relaxing with a good book or listening to your favourite music through the Bluetooth speaker. Doors lead out to the south facing front patio, whilst the snug continues through to the dining area which is at the heart of this open plan L shaped room, with its large, solid oak table easily allowing everyone to eat together. Thoughtful design means that even those busy in the kitchen can still be included in conversations with friends or family seated at the table, making it a great sociable environment. To complete this light and spacious setting, a brand-new kitchen provides plenty of working space and all the equipment required to prepare delicious meals, whilst the electric range cooker with 7ring gas hob not only looks good, but easily accommodates the catering needs of larger groups.

All bedrooms are a generous size, with two being on the ground floor and the remaining 3 on the first floor.  Bedroom 1 (ground floor) with king or zip ‘n’ link option to 2’6” twin beds on request at time of booking - suitable for children, Smart TV, wooden chair, full length mirror, matching furniture, and co-ordinated furnishings. Bedroom 2, also on the ground floor, is a double.  Views of the sea can be enjoyed from this light and airy room with smart TV, full length mirror, chair and matching furniture. This room benefits from its own en-suite shower with WC, basin and heated towel rail.  The ground floor also accommodates an additional bathroom with shower over the bath with hand grip, WC, basin and heated towel rail.  A further separate WC is also available.  An under the stair cupboard provides useful storage space in addition to a large cupboard in the entrance lobby for coats, shoes, bags etc.

The carpeted stairs with handrail, lead up to the first floor.  Light floods in from the large window on the landing and panelled doors, all fitted with safety glass.  A further 3 bedrooms lead off the first-floor hallway.  Bedroom 3 is a king room with stunning views towards the beach, sea and extending across to Hartland. There is also a smart TV, good quality furniture and carefully co-ordinated accessories.

The adjoining en-suite is a really good size with large walk-in shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail.  Bedroom 4 is a twin room which can be zip ‘n’ linked as a super king on request at time of booking.  There is also a smart TV, matching wooden furniture and good views. This room has use of the separate bathroom opposite with bath, shower over the bath, basin and heated towel rail.  There is a separate WC adjacent. Bedroom 5 is a double. This spacious room enjoys lovely views, matching wooden furniture, chair and smart TV. It also benefits from its own en-suite with step up into electric shower, WC, basin and heated towel rail.

To the back of the property there is ample private parking for 5 cars.  A grassed area adjacent provides use of a rotary line. A handy cold tap with hose pipe is also available for rinsing off sand from boards and bodies. To the front a side gateway from the drive, or doors from the open plan kitchen/diner/snug, allows you to access the good size, south-facing patio area, complete with wooden garden table and chairs for 10 people. A perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine.

A great deal of thought and care has gone into making Heather Lea a wonderful place to stay.  From the good quality furnishings to the little extras such as locally designed lamp shades, unusual light fittings and wall mounted prints of the local beaches. Within a few minutes you can be on the beach and you don’t even need to take the car!  There is a good choice of family friendly places to eat in Woolacombe village just 300 yards from Heather Lea, or a very short drive will bring you to the village of Mortehoe where there is a further selection of eateries offering tasty home cooked food. We are sure you will be delighted with your stay at Heather Lea and will want to return just as soon as you can!

Fantastic accommodation and location will definitely be back

Mr M,

A beautiful house with everything we could possibly need, in a great location too.

Mr P,

We had a fantastic stay here for Xmas. There was 8 of us and ample space for us all. The kitchen/dining area/snug was perfect. The location superb - 2 min walk to the amazing beach. Well equipped cottage with everything we needed. Super responsive owners. The view of the sea from the cottage was appreciated too. Thank you for sharing your home with us and we will return.

Mrs B,

Exceptionally beautiful house with everything you need.

Mr N,

Great location, very clean, well stocked property with a real homely feel. Everything worked and the welcome pack was a lovely thought. Would highly recommend.

Mr M,

What a wonderful property which allows several generations to enjoy Woolacombe and North Devon. Plenty of room for all the families to relax. Very well prepared, maintained and kitted out to a high standard.

Mr P,

Excellent customer service, any queries answered promptly. House excellent, perfect for 3 generations.

Ms Deborah W,

This is a really lovely, spacious house which can accommodate a large number of people very comfortably. It's nicely furnished and decorated, it's extremely well equipped, there are plenty of pots and pans to cook for a large party, the views are great, there's parking for multiple cars, the location is conveniently close to the shops and beach and the house was spotlessly clean. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Mrs W,

We had to make several date changes and they were all accommodated with ease. The property was excellent in a great location and everyone enjoyed it.

Mrs Tracey R,

The house was perfect for our 3 generations holiday, downstairs accommodation with ensuite and another family bathroom suited my dad and plenty of rooms with ensuites upstairs for the rest of us. The house was perfect for Christmas lunch with the open plan kitchen diner and snug area. Fully equipped with everything you can need including plenty of crockery and glassware. Thoughtful touches with the lovely welcome parcel and plenty of added extras we'd often have to bring with us. Lovely views of the sea, so close to walk the beach everyday and the Woolacombe Bay Hotel provided a lovely lunch/dinner venue. Beautiful setting and lovely accommodation, thank you!
