Description

Wednesday Cottage is under new ownership and has been thoroughly refurbished throughout - new photos to follow shortly!

Recently refurbished throughout, Wednesday Cottage has a creative and appealing interior. Nestling at the top of the beautiful Helford River it has an inglenook fireplace for cosy evenings and beautiful views from the top patio. Typical of the traditional cottages in this secluded and picturesque corner of the Helford estuary, you will feel instantly at home soothed by the thick stone walls and cosy interior.

The quaint fretwork porch leads into the comfortable living/dining room with large inglenook fireplace with woodburner, underfloor heating, TV/DVD, radio/CD player, and dining area at the other end of the room. An archway links to the well-equipped oak kitchen which includes a dishwasher, tumble dryer and microwave. Beyond the kitchen is a bathroom with bath and overhead shower, loo and basin, and the washing machine.

From the kitchen, stairs open on one side with a rope banister lead to the first floor. Upstairs are two double bedrooms, one with a washbasin, a twin bedroom with double height ceiling, and cloakroom with loo and basin. The landing is light and spacious, as it is fully glazed, and leads out onto a small patio with steep steps leading to a higher patio with garden furniture and lovely views across the cottage rooftops.

Reviews

In May, Helford is quiet and the woods are at their best. Wednesday Cottage was a wonderful base for walking and taking time by the water. A wonderful location and everything you need in this relaxed, cosy cottage. Parking is a big bonus.

Miss F,

Wednesday Cottage is a delightful, quirky house in a wonderful position in Helford. It makes such a difference to have a designated parking space as anyone who knows Helford, it can be a nightmare. A welcoming Cottage much enjoyed.

Mrs B,

Location

Helford is an idyllic little village set on the Helford River, just south of Falmouth. The area is blessed with stunning scenery – beautiful countryside, glorious walks following the meandering river and a plethora of quiet little coves and bays along the coast.

The whole region is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a number of picturesque villages and hamlets dotted throughout the landscape. Whether you stay in Helford village, Maenporth, Gweek, Coverack, Manaccan, Flushing or Porthallow, each has its own charm and character, with thatched and white-washed cottages a real feature. Why not explore all of them, sampling the quintessentially English village pubs along the way!

Helford is situated on the east coast of the Lizard Peninsula, with Lizard Point a must-see attraction. Other great days out in the area include the Seal Sanctuary, the sub-tropical paradise of Trebah Gardens and firm family favourite, Flambards. The nearby towns of Porthleven and Helston offer restaurants, supermarkets and pubs and, of course, the harbour town of Falmouth is just up the coast, providing for all your shopping needs, excursions and more.
