Description

Gorse Cottage is ideally located on a quiet lane and it is a small traditional mid-terraced cottage. There are many footpaths from the doorstep which go for miles in every direction. The RSPB Minsmere nature reserve is only 2.5 miles from this cottage and for those who enjoy walking and sightseeing only 45 minutes on foot.

Apart from the beautiful countryside and walks you are perfectly located between the popular seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold with each of them only a twenty minute drive away and there are many more attractions to explore.

Set in this lovely village location, only 2.7 miles from the nearest coastline in Dunwich, Gorse Cottage has a rear garden, which can be accessed by the French doors in the conservatory area. There is also a peaceful paved area with bench seating and garden furniture supplied to enjoy the outside and listen to the wildlife. In walking distance you will find the village pub and also an award winning restaurant.

Inside Gorse Cottage built over 150 years ago, is an entrance hall area providing coat and shoe storage which opens to the galley-style kitchen where the stairs lead to the first floor. The sitting room is a peaceful area for relaxing with a brick open fireplace for those cosy winter evenings, and a dining conservatory area with doors leading to the garden. Upstairs you will find a double bedroom and also a room with quirky built-in cabin style beds.

Westleton is a pretty village midway between Aldeburgh and Southwold, with the coast at Dunwich only two and a half miles away. Centred around a large green, Westleton is one of the most popular places to stay on the Heritage Coast. It is an ideal base for the beach or for Minsmere, as well as the coastal heaths and forests. There are two good pubs, a restaurant and well-stocked village store/post office - all in the village centre. Much of the area around the village is accessible open heath or mixed woodland.

Reviews

If you are looking to get away from the stresses of life, this peaceful location with plenty of walks straight from the cottage is ideal.

Miss T,

Situated in a quintessential English village with stunning walks available across gorse and heather commons. A short drive to the beach and with lovely pub food sold locally. Silent Night must have been written here as you can hear a pin drop. If you fancy a quiet week in a well appointed property that is centrally located for good day trips with the children (11 & 14 in our case) this is a great cottage.

Mr B,

Cottage in a very nice spot, looking out at woods with lovely walks from the front door.

Ms S,

Excellent location situated between Southwold and Allburgh and right next door to Minsmere. The cottage is situated up a small side road which meant lots of quiet time for us which was wonderful.
