Description

This former coach house is ideally located just under a mile from Windermere in the small hamlet The Common. A classic upside down house, Spring Cottage allows fantastic views over to the Langdale and Scafell Pike from the large first floor living area.

You enter the front door into a small conservatory with comfortable seating for four people. It's a lovely area for a relaxing read and an ideal place to get those muddy boots off after a day on the nearby fells. On the ground floor, there are two spacious bedrooms; the first, a king size, is a lovely room with ensuite shower room. The spacious second bedroom has 2 single beds and is delightfully furnished. You can also find the family bathroom on this floor with a bath and overhead shower.

Up the stairs we have the large living/dining room situated so you can enjoy those long reaching views towards the fells, which are also shown on the the picture above the woodburning stove. With duel aspect windows and views, the comfortable living room is flooded with light. Two large sofas surround the Smart TV and woodburner, perfect for relaxing in after your day exploring the Lake District National Park. This room also features a dining table that can seat up to four people.

Just off the living area is the well equipped kitchen, it has everything you need for your stay; dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave oven and induction hob, as well as all the other essentials you could need. A door leads out of the kitchen onto a lovely balcony space with table and chairs, perfect for a morning coffee or evening beverage of your choice and if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of a deer in the adjoining field.

Spring Cottage is a charming property and the owner has thought of everything you could need for your stay, located in a quiet hamlet yet being only a mile from Windermere you have the best of both worlds year round.

Off road car parking for 2 cars available.

WiFi is included throughout the property.

Reviews

Lovely cottage in a quiet little hamlet about 25 minutes walk from Windermere railway station and bus terminus (we came up on the train). Comfortable and very well equipped. Hope to return soon!

Mr K,

The cottage is very well-equipped and very welcoming. It's in a quiet location and there is a lovely walk to Orrest head that you can do easily from the cottage. We had an issue on arrival which was dealt with swiftly by the owner and Original Cottages who were both very responsive.

Mrs K,

Lovely cottage in a quiet location. Well equipped. Very comfortable sofas in the lounge. Great advantage having 2 bathrooms. Good outside seating area, with plenty of chairs and cushions. Would return.

Mrs O,

We have visited this cottage on numerous occasions in different seasons and it is perfect for our needs - well-appointed,always clean and comfortable and in a very peaceful position, well away from busy Windermere, within easy reach, by car or on foot , of all our favourite places.

Ms B,

Spring Cottage is a lovely holiday home. The facilities are first rate and it’s close enough to local shops. It’s in a beautiful, quiet, location with views of fells. The walks are spectacular, and immediate. Once we parked, we didn’t use the car. It was ideal for a quiet, relaxing break.

Mr W,

First time in the Lakes with the kids and its been wonderful! We loved the free biscuits that came with the cottage! Absolutely stunning views from the cottage itself, with easy access to the village of Windermere (perfect walking distance for the kids). Overall our stay was greta and we couldn't have wished for a more pleasant week away.

Past Customer,
