Reviews

A lovely cottage, only a short walk from amenities and the sea front.

Mr B,

A lovely cottage in a great position near the town centre of Seahouses. Had everything we needed for our week’s stay. Has a lovely garden that will be a great bonus in the summer months. Seahouses has a lot of facilities and is a perfect base to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

Mrs S,

Our first visit to Northumbria and what a pleasure it has been. Kingfisher's Rest was perfect for us, very comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The surprise addition of a Christmas tree and decorations was such a lovely touch, along with the welcome items and bottle of wine and chocolates was very much appreciated. The off-road parking was great. In a very convenient position for restaurants and everyday shopping, the Spice House was excellent. A good base for either walking or exploring from. We really hope to return. Thank you for everything.

Mrs T,

Our cottage was extremely clean and very well decorated. The bed was very comfortable with top quality bed linen and towels, with plenty of hot water. The lounge had a very comfortable settee and chairs and the kitchen was very well equipped. The cottage was extremely cosy and warm, with just a short stroll into the village it is ideally located.

Mrs C,

Very clean, compact, modern and priced accordingly. Its a shame second bedroom not in use ,it wasn't a problem for us, but unable to Share how good for elderly friends who sleep in separate beds. Will be looking to book again next autumn. Many thanks

Mr Y,

We had a wonderful week at Kingfishers Rest. The property is immaculate and the garden is peaceful - had breakfast in the garden every morning. You can park your car on the drive and go off exploring Seahouses. Will definitely be coming back.

Mrs M,

Beautiful house, very homely and only a short walking distance into Seahouses. Really appreciated the off road parking. The bed was very comfortable, and loved the large screen tv, which was great for nights in with a glass of wine. Would definitely here stay again, when back in Northumbria.

Mrs H,

A very clean, spacious and welcoming accommodation. Well positioned on the Northumberland coast for exploring other areas of history, wildlife, retail therapy and restaurants. Would highly recommend it.

Mrs E,

This is a cheep accomadaton that is well situated to explore the Northumberland coast line. It does all that you want from accomodation without any specific frills. I would point out that you should be prepared to bring your own toilet rolls and cleaning materials as these are very limited. However this is a minor complaint as overall you get reasonable value for money accomodation.

Mr E,

Good off road parking. Very near to bus stops if preference is to use buses rather than car for getting around Northumberland. Lovely enclosed back garden with garden furniture.

Previous Customer,

lovely location very clean cottage lovely garden it was our second visit to kingfishers rest

Mr Allan B,

Location was perfect for Seahouses. House was immaculately clean, decorated and finished to a high standard. The bed was sooooo comfy. Nice garden too, didn’t have time to use it.

Mrs Elaine P,

Cottage was well cleaned and equipped, well placed to local shops and harbour/beach, we’d definitely return to the same cottage and Seahouses

Mr Andy C,

Good clean house where we have stayed twice before. In an excellent situation for walking the coastal path. Well connected by coastal bus routes.

Prof Richard R,

Excellent holiday cottage. Could not fault it. Location was great too

Mr Ian D,

The settee cushions moved forward everytime you got up and the bed for us was too hard but we are used to memory foam. I appreciate you cannot please everyone fully and these issues would not deter us from booking this accommodation again as everything else was great. The booking went very smoothly from booking to the finish of the stay

Mrs Helen C,

Location, value and comfort makes this a delightful place for a short break out of season. There is so much to see and enjoy in the area and the beaches are wonderful for walkers.

Mrs Hilary R,

A great property to stay at in a great location. Based on previous comments in the visitors book and our own experience, it may be wise to not advertise a welcome pack if it is not going to supplied! It did not detract from our stay, but it would have been nice after a very long journey. I’m sure the property owners will feel let down when they read the visitors book.

Mrs Jennifer C,

Kingfishers Rest was a lovely cottage & in the perfect location for all our planned holiday activities. Also really liked the regular updates from Original Cottages giving reassurance & key information.

Mrs Diane W,

Every thing about the cottage was superb! The welcome bag was a lovely touch! Our only complaint is the dog next door barking at all hours! In the middle of the night! We know it’s nothing to do with the cottage but it’s something that you could do without! Didn’t stop us booking for next year!

Mr Stephen L,
