Description
The Bothy is an interesting conversion of the original coach house to Wern Manor. Packed with traditional character and charm and furnished with antiques, it combines a traditional exterior and courtyard setting with a light and modern feel. This is a superb location for heading to the mountains and lakes of Snowdonia or to the stunning beaches nearby.
The ground floor living room has a leather sofa, colourful tub chairs, flatscreen TV/DVD and WiFi. The modern kitchen includes an electric oven, gas hob, microwave/grill, dishwasher and fridge, whilst a separate utility room houses a washing machine and fridge/freezer. The dining area has large windows looking out to the courtyard and an antique table and chairs for six. There is a spacious downstairs bathroom with a bath, shower over, basin and WC. Upstairs are three bedrooms, all nicely styled using bright accent colours and quirky artwork. They include; a double, a twin and a single. On this floor there is another bathroom(which can be configured into an en suite to the double bedroom or shared between all three bedrooms) with a large walk-in shower, basin and WC. The Bothy is set in a sunny courtyard which is shared with another cottage. There is an additional private courtyard with a table and chairs and private parking to the rear.
Guests and their dogs are encouraged to explore the 15 acres of grounds which, although only remnants remain of this once formal garden, still provide a fascinating reminder of a bygone era, steeped in history. There is plenty of room to explore, picnic or play games on the lawn (croquet sets provided), or find a quiet corner to sit and relax. Features include yew avenues, sweeping lawns, woodland areas, a summer house and pond. Walks lead to the nearby village of Tremadog and to the beach and town of Porthmadog. Wern Manor is undergoing a proccess of gentle renovation and the owners' encourage guests to arrange a tour of the mansion to discover, not only its fascinating history, but also the renovation work and the exciting future that lies ahead for it.
Please note there is a small stream and a pond in the grounds so children need to be supervised at all times.
One well-behaved dog welcome by arrangement.
Electricity, heating and WiFi included.
Bed linen and towels provided.
Travel cot, high chair and stairgate available.
