Reviews

A really good property. Very comfortable and well equipped. In a beautiful location. An excellent pub nearby. The owners were very helpful with their communications beforehand, had left a welcoming pack, and i am sure would have gone out of their way to assist and resolve any problem if we had one. Would definitely recommend.

Mr P,

Absolutely lovely cottage. Everything you need, all equipment provided. Views from the conservatory are stunning. Beds very comfortable. Shower was amazing. 2 minute walk to the CB Inn for drinks and good food. Great stay and will definitely re-book. Great hosts as well.

Mrs M,

Plantation barn is a home from home. Communication with owners was excellent The little touch’s was lovely milk in fridge, wine biscuits too . Everything you needed was there . The bed upstairs was lovely nice size and comfortable. Very dog friendly in the house and outside . And the best shower we have had in a holiday cottage ever. We could not fault this charming cottage The wildlife was amazing on the bird feeders in the garden . I would give a 10 /10 .

Mrs M,

Our 2 nd visit to this lovely cottage, the cottage itself is clean, cosy & comfortable, it is also dog friendly. Everything you need for your holiday is provided even down to dog bowls & balls, the cottage is very well equipped. What makes this property really stand out is the stunning views across the Arkengarthdale hills, wether you are sitting in the upstairs lounge, or dining room, or from the garden the views are spectacular. The meadow beside the cottage is full of rabbits, sheep & pheasants, &there are walks from the door. The owners are very thoughtful & the information inside the cottage is excellent, there is even food to replenish the bird feeders, another delight to watch.

Mr N,

Plantation barn is an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire dales, just a few miles from Reeth, where there is a village store which is well stocked, and about 3 pubs all dog friendly and all serve food , an extra special mention to the Kings Arms, for good old good quality food we dined there most days as it was good value , they do fishy Friday, 2x fish and chips mushy peas for £16:95 with curry sauce and b&b an extra£1:95 , we paid the same for 1 xfish and chips elsewhere and wasn't as nice , And they really make a fuss of our dogs . Back to the cottage, it is ideal for just sitting and watching the wildlife , or I did a regular morning stroll around the local area with the dogs ,before taking them out in the car visiting places , Barnard Castle is 10 miles , and the famous Tan Hill pub ( highest pub in Britain) is just 8 miles through gorgeous scenery. There's ample parking for 2x cars easily and all the amenities that you need Bar b q etc . We had a great time , The owners were easy to get hold of should you need them ( we didnt) and they are very accomadating and nice to talk . Thank you..

Mr V,

We had a lovely stay here. Views are beautiful and our dog loved watching the bunnies and sheep! Kitchen really well equipped and the bed was really comfy. We spent most time in the conservatory as it was a bit dark inside. Great food at the CB Inn and the local village was lovely.

Mrs T,

Having taken several staycations post covid, this was the best out of numerous cottages we have stayed in, it is perfectly situated if you are looking for a peaceful break, stunning scenery all around, and a comfortable well equipped home for the week. We did several walks from the door, Arkengarthdale is beautiful and never travelled far by car to find further lovely walks. 5 minutes walk to the excellent Charles Barthurst Inn, where we ate a few evenings and the food was superb. BBQ in the garden was also useful as the weather was so kind to us. Would definately return

Mr P,

Lovely property in an excellent location for walks right from the door. The owner went the extra mile by contacting us directly before our stay with tips on local restaurants, etc and advised us on the day of our arrival when the property was ready for us to access. It was refreshing to be contacted by the owner and not just the agency and this made us feel all the more welcome. We have visited Plantation Barn before and will definitely do so again.

Mrs D,

Excellent in every aspect Owner very friendly 5 Star you will not be disappointed
