Located in the ever popular village of Bainbridge, Newkin House is a traditional stone cottage which has recently been refurbished to a high standard and provides very comfortable accommodation for families and couples alike. With lots of original features including beamed ceilings, latched doors, wooden window shutters and oak floors there is plenty of character and charm. The lounge, with a large leather sofa and velvet chair is perfect for relaxing in after a day exploring the Dales, and the multi-fuel stove will warm any cooler evening for those cosy nights in. The kitchen diner is of very good quality and provides a superb social space when cooking and dining, or you may choose to make the most of the patio space outdoors. Reviews

This stay was a birthday present for my husband who actually grew up in the cottage from birth until he was 15 and to sleep in the bedroom that he shared with his brothers and to wake up and enjoy the beautiful views, as he did then. His father bought the cottage with a loan from a friend, Kit Calvert (who started up Wensleydale cheese and also put the play area in Hawes for the children). There were two staircases in the house then and no inside toilet or bathroom, so he has been amazed with the transformation of the cottage. It has been done with great taste. The Barn in the view from the double bedroom on the left, he milked cows there. So thank you for being here and giving us the chance to make dreams come true. We have really enjoyed our holiday in Yorkshire. The cottage is lovely & from the moment we walked in we felt comfortable. The cottage is lovely & everything we needed. Warm and cosy and a comfortable bed! Just a pity it wasn’t cold enough to use the fire. The cottage is very well appointed & beautifully restored with excellent fittings. Thank you Mr and Mrs P

Past Customer,

Such a beautiful cottage & very well decorated & equipped with everything you need. Everything was of good quality. The cottage was cosy, comfortable, welcoming & so clean. It was a lovely surprise to be welcomed with some goodies left out for us. Thank you. We would hope to return. Bainbridge is a lovely village with an excellent café right opposite the cottage & of course Yorkshire is a delight!

Mrs P,

Great place to come back to after a day walking in this really beautiful area.

Mr D,

This is a really nice cottage right in the middle of Bainbridge. Lots of nice options to explore around the village and further afield. A really nice base to explore from and come back to. The coffee shop over the road was stopped at every morning!

Mr M,

Beautiful comfy cottage in a gorgeous part of the Yorkshire Dales national park. We slept so well here and loved the space of the downstairs area. Really pretty cottage and the owners have done a fantastic job. Slight cons: The cooking ingredients were very basic, only salt and pepper, no other spices or olive oil. I was also surprised how there was no sugar to go with the tea.
