Description

Wren Cottage is a pretty period cottage nestled on a historic street and just a minutes walk from Woodbridge's Market Hill and town centre. Extended over three floors, the holiday home provides plenty of space for four whilst maintaining that cosy cottage feel. Guests will love the range period features. On the top floor is a quaint, twin bed loft room where views of Woodbridge can be seen from the perfect den. Pop down to the first floor and you’ll discover the generously sized master bedroom complete with comfortable king-sized bed.

The ground floor is the heart of Wren Cottage. Guests can enjoy a newly refurbished kitchen/diner and bathroom which have both been completed to a very high standard. State of the art appliances compliment the cottage’s characteristic features and carefully chosen colours and worktops harmonise perfectly. Wren Cottage’s living room offers a comfortable space for guests to relax and unwind whilst the wood burner accentuates the cosy feel. At the rear of Wren Cottage is its hidden gem, a beautiful, full of life, walled garden. An abundance of wildflowers and herbs explode from the raised flower beds which are placed beside the well-maintained lawn complete with garden furniture and a BBQ, the perfect place for enjoying each others company. Woodbridge is a historic town of great character situated on the River Deben. Its charm lies in the many narrow picturesque streets of fine houses and cottages, the river, the famous Tide Mill, the ancient buildings around the Market Hill and the fine Church. Woodbridge has an interesting shopping centre, with many specialist shops, good restaurants and pubs, together with art galleries, antique shops, the town museum and an excellent cinema/theatre, large recreation areas and an indoor heated swimming pool.

Reviews

A very well equipped and nicely furnished cottage.

Mrs P,

Well equipped cottage very nicely done up in central Woodbridge. Seckford Street is one of the nicest streets in Woodbridge with lovely interesting architecture. An old and quirky cottage sympathetically restored. We really enjoyed our short stay.

Mr B,

The steepness of the stairs needs to be better emphasised. The twin bedroom would not be suitable for children younger than 4 or so (in my view, at present) as there’s no way of securing the stairs at the top to stop children attempting to go down them from the bedroom at night (similarly with the first floor). A note on the back door about the first half of the garden being next door’s might be helpful too as it’s not apparent until reading the (very comprehensive!) information about the property. Otherwise, this was a really lovely cottage and we had a fantastic stay.

Mrs Jennifer G,

An exceptional location with proximity to the wonderful church and Market Hill enhanced my experience. The restful decor and furnishing contributes to a feeling of comfort, with original artwork making it memorable. The garden is delightful. The owners are welcoming and notably generous with the heating during my chilly March stay.

Ms Jill M,

We were extremely impressed with the cottage. It had everything we needed, all the rooms had the equipment we wanted and it was so convenient for the railway station and of course the very attractive town centre of Woodbridge. An extra bonus was the close proximity of so many charming old pubs and restaurants
