Westleton is a pretty village midway between Aldeburgh and Southwold, with the coast at Dunwich only two and a half miles away.  Centred around a large green, Westleton is one of the most popular places to stay on the Heritage Coast.  It is an ideal base for the beach or for Minsmere, as well as the coastal heaths and forests.  There are two good pubs, a restaurant and well-stocked village store/post office - all in the village centre.  Much of the area around the village is accessible to open heath or mixed woodland.

Reviews

A comfortable, quiet and generally well equipped bungalow in a lovely location with fantastic walks from the door. The garden was lovely - well tended at the front and attractively natural at the back.

Mrs W,

This was our third visit to this lovely cottage with its unusual and interesting garden, although the first time at this time of year. It did not disappoint and we feel it was one of the best holidays we've had - lots of walking on Westleton Heath, Dunwich Heath and RSPB Minsmere. The weather was kind and we were very comfortable at the cottage. Despite the bird feeders in the garden it seems that not many visitors bother to fill the feeders as we didn't see as many birds on the feeders as we expected. Interesting to see a muntjac deer in the garden more than once. We'll be back - thank you for letting us stay here.

Mrs S,

Peaceful location just outside a pretty village, but good road connections to many places of interest. Comfortable beds and other furniture, well-equipped kitchen. Surrounded by a large garden with good furniture.

Mr H,

We had a few issues 1. Cooker temperature control appears faulty. 2. En-suite underfloor heating not working 3. Main bathroom sink tap very difficult to turn off. 4. Main one is smell of dead mouse in back bedroom. Got to smell so bad we had to leave early (Thursday) 5. Very Dated - needs tlc. 6. Internet signal quite poor

Mr Stephen O,

Generally very good. Spacious and light, comfortable beds, good location. Wet room badly designed - whole floor becomes wet -> have to mop & dry floor before you can use the toilet or washbasin. House cold and feeling damp when we arrived, but warmed up by next day after heating came on. Poor selection of crockery, random mix of bowls. No sign on house to say no. 1 or White Clouds - need to update directions.

Mr Mike T,

The welcome basket was much appreciated. The beds and sofas were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped but the bathroom and wetroom were awful. They look very good but they do not work. Not having a shower over the bath meant that everyone had to use the en suite to shower. The water in the shower in the wetroom had to be run for about 5 minutes to get any hot water. That is an awful waste of drinking water. Then the flow was just a trickle. It made washing your hair quite difficult. After using the shower it left the wetroom unusable as it took more than 6 hours to dry out. The TV is from a different era and needs to be updated.

Mr Dennis S,

Top scores on almost everything, few cobwebs so 4 on cleaning and one uncomfortable sofa so 4 on comfort but otherwise a very good stay away

Miss Gillian R,

We had a lovely week at the property; it was very comfortable and had everything we needed; it was also very quiet and peaceful, and we enjoyed seeing the many birds visiting the feeders once we'd filled them - the garden is a wildlife friendly garden. We were also excellently placed for walking over Westleton Heath and through wooded areas.
