Description

Situated just a couple of minutes away from the centre of Lynton is Chapel Loft - a beautifully-presented second floor duplex apartment sleeping four people and a dog. The owners have put a great deal of thought into the way the apartment’s living area is arranged and as such, it is laid out in a sociable fashion to make sure everyone can be together. The kitchen/dining area has a table and 4 dining chairs as well as two tub chairs whilst the lounge has comfy leather sofas and is a great room to relax in. A twin-bedded room and family bathroom with underfloor heating and heated towel rail complete the accommodation on this floor. Stairs lead up to the master bedroom which has a double bed and en-suite shower room. Outside, there is an allocated parking space. The apartment is very close to the centre of Lynton where you can wander around the cobbled side streets, exploring a myriad of eclectic shops and purchase your holiday souvenirs. Lynton is also home to its own cinema. Based in a Grade II Listed former Methodist Chapel, this cosy cinema has seating for just 68 people. The Victorians called Lynton and its sister village, Lynmouth, ‘Little Switzerland’ and, with hills clad in woodland dropping dramatically to a pretty valley below, it’s easy to see why. To fully appreciate the splendour of the countryside, coastline and seascapes, most visitors head first to the Victorian water-powered cliff railway that links Lynton with Lynmouth below. It is a journey of just 300m which offers utterly breath-taking views and on a clear day you’ll see across the Bristol Channel to Wales. Local beaches are a real treat. You have the shingle and rock of Lynmouth on your doorstep and just to the west is Lee Bay.  The famous Valley of The Rocks, with stunning coastal walks and home to a herd of wild goats is also just a few minutes’ drive away.

Reviews

Clean and tidy place to stay and excellent location.

Mr B,

Lovely apartment for 2 couples.

Mrs P,

very impressive duplex apartment, very spacious and provided all we needed. We accepted the lack of views as part of the apartment as it was in the eves of an old chapel and it certainly didn't spoil our holiday. Very surprised at 2 seating areas and 2 tv's!! central location but just far enough away to be quiet. Great to have its own parking place.

Mrs H,

Very happy over all but couldn’t get Netflix to work and upstairs showed very dark needs a brighter light and cutlery very poor quality+standard lamp in lounge has a loose wire in plug

Mr Brian F,

Comfortable accommodation in a good location. Main drawback was having all velux windows - which meant there was limited view of the outside. As keen walkers we like to see what the weather is doing !!

Mr Peter B,
