Reviews

Carthew Mill Cottage was everything we had hoped it would be. Unused to an open plan layout we really enjoyed being together and cooking with the well equipped kitchen area, including the clean cooker. Having our three dogs with us was a lovely opportunity and there was plenty of room for them by the great wood burning stove after long country/beach walks. The area is great for both and there are beautiful gardens to visit. The bright conservatory onto the safe, enclosed garden was a real bonus and having the garden gate, meant dogs could be dried off easily outside before coming into the conservatory first. They were truly well catered for with bedding, bowls, towels and even treats! The garden gate led straight out to a green lane, perfect for exercising the dogs too. The welcome pack for the humans was equally generous - milk, butter, sausages, bread, eggs, croissants and beautiful flowers. Upstairs, the bedding was more hotel like than cottage - extremely comfortable bed with sumptuous, beautify laundered bedding and soft, fluffy towels. There were even spares waiting in the airing cupboard should they be needed. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Mrs W,

What a lovely cottage and what wonderful hosts. Thank you, Louise and David for making it so special and achieving the holy grail of holidays, making us feel like we were the first guests that had ever stayed there. Our only one regret is that we should have come for two weeks, one is just not long enough. Its been a great week none the less and we do hope to return.

Past Customer,

What can we say. Thank you Louise and David for a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage and also for the lovely welcome you gave us when we arrived.

Past Customer,

Lovely well equipped and clean cottage and the hosts were very welcoming.

Mrs M,

Lovely well equipped cottage with fully enclosed garden for dog safety, and very kind and helpful hosts on hand if needed. Bed was particularly comfortable - and huge! Kitchen extremely well equipped. Lounge comfy with good TV and Netflix at the ready. Dining area in conservatory is bright and pleasant.

Mrs E,

We had a really nice stay at this property.Carthew Mill was very quite, cosy and comfortable with all the amenities and equipment you would expect from high quality accommodation. A conservatory , enclosed garden, and log fire added to our comfort. Also very dog friendly if you are bringing your dog.The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring the area with beaches, towns, and attractions within a few miles a good pub within walking distance. The owners who live in a separate house behind the cottage were extremely friendly and helpful if needed but never intrusive . Can highly recommend.

Mr P,

A beautiful cottage. Gorgeous flowers in the garden. Really well equipped kitchen. The most relaxing bedroom. The cleanliness was exceptional. Very dog friendly. Really helpful and friendly people. We will be going again and highly recommend.

Mr H,

There are no negatives here, for two people and dogs it's close to perfect. Particularly tops for - quiet situation, central to explore anywhere on w penwith peninsula, friendly and helpful owners, living next door, well equipped kitchen, warm bright conservatory, huge bedroom, bed and bathroom upstairs, generous welcome pack of goodies, easy to use log burner. We could not fault this holiday cottage.

Mr H,

Wow. Thank you. We have had such a wonderful holiday, the cottage is beautiful. So well equipped and very cool when it is 30 degrees outside. Hope to be back very soon.

Past Customer,

Such a lovely stay in the cottage! Best equipped kitchen we've had on holiday which made things a lot easier! Tibby especially enjoyed the huge doggy bed, it is not often anything fits a rottweiler! Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Thank you!!

Past Customer,

We had a fantastic stay - first time to this part of Cornwall and we had a great time exploring the area and beautiful beaches. Highlights were the view from the top of Trencrom Hill and evening walk on Hayle Towans Beach. Our boxer Maya loved running on the white sand. Thank you for everything, we were especially grateful for the welcome pack. Loved the beautiful flowers in the garden too.

Past Customer,

Very enjoyable stay, with the lovely sausages, eggs, bread, milk & butter being very much appreciated!* Had lovely weather all week to get out & about. Recommend Botallack for a good coastal walk, with mining history interest interspersed with nature. A lovely part of Cornwall & a nice bolthole to return to each evening. Thanks also for providing DVDs and Netflix! With best wishes to you both. P.S. have never stayed in a holiday cottage with such a well stocked cupboard for the basics (spices etc)!! * also not forgetting the lovely biscuits & beautiful flowers!
