Description

Captain’s View is a ground floor, contemporary apartment for two with lovely views over Ilfracombe and the sea beyond. The spacious lounge/kitchen/diner has floor to ceiling windows making the most of the view – which includes Damien Hirst’s famous statue Verity. This attractive room is beautifully furnished and has a couple of comfortable settees to sit and relax on after an exhilarating day out. The modern kitchen is light and airy with wood flooring and plenty of storage space. A foldaway table and dining chairs are provided which can be moved to the windows for a “meal with a view”.  A door leads off the living room to the bedroom with king size bed and large floor to ceiling windows.  Finally a modern bathroom completes the accommodation with laminate flooring and fitted shower over the bath. Outside, there are undesignated parking spaces in front of the property with additional parking on the roadside. Captain’s View is a couple of minutes away from the centre of Ilfracombe where you can enjoy the delightful Victorian and Regency architecture and browse the town’s many independent shops. If you’re after an energetic experience and keen to explore the coast, then why not do it aboard a 10m RIB travelling at 20 knots? Ilfracombe Sea Safari departs daily between April and October, taking passengers on an exhilarating and fascinating journey up along the coast. If you’re lucky, you’ll spot seals, porpoises and even dolphins. For adventures of a less heart-pounding nature, visit the famous Tunnels Beaches a few minutes’ drive from  the property or wander around the harbour where, rising high above the pier is ‘Verity’, a huge sculpture of stainless steel and bronze created by Damien Hirst. The pier is where you will also find the Aquarium with its fascinating array of sea creatures.

Reviews

Ground floor 1 bed apartment, plenty of off road parking ,very tastefully decorated, and furnished bright and airey ,would definitely recommend ,fresh flowers a nice touch not forgetting a brilliant view of the harbour and sea

Mr D,

This is a beautiful apartment, perfect for couples. The cleanliness was of a very high standard and the property was equipped with everything anyone could possibly need. The large bed was extremely comfortable. Of particular note was the view from the lounge which was spectacular, even more so on stormy days. The location is ideal for exploring the lovely North Devon coast. Highly recommended.

Mr P,

Apartment was just as pictured in website. Tough hill to get to from town but not as bad as it looks. Managed without much difficulty. Shower room some getting used to but had a powerful massage jet that was good. Bed very comfortable and living area worked well. Small kitchen but worked for us and we cooked each night of our stay. Would recommend if staying in Ilfracombe.

Mrs G,

The apartment was excellent it had everything and more you could want the, views are excellent over looking the harbour, very comfortable and clean would recommend and will be back

Mr Alwyn W,

Lovely property with great facilities, including a washing machine and bath which were a godsend after walking long stretches of the spectacular Coast Path close by - plenty of long soaks to ease the aching muscles and a washer for fresh clothes daily - perfect!
