Description

Buttercup Lodge is 1.5 miles from the village of Darsham.  The spacious, modern and comfortable accommodation is all ground floor and there is a welcoming woodburner making winters feel much cosier.  It is situated 200 yards from the A12, making it easy to travel to local attractions and other popular villages such as Westleton and Yoxford.  There is woodland at the back of the property which would be ideal for walking your pet.  Buttercup Lodge has open views over fields and trees and would be well-suited to families, walkers, cyclists and those looking for a romantic break. Buttercup Lodge and Canola Lodge are situated next to each other and can be booked together to accommodate larger parties. Shop: 1 mile.  Pub: 1 mile.

Garden: Small patio at front and rear with garden furniture and barbecue.
Parking: Ample private parking.
Heating: Oil underfloor heating.
Pets: Three well-behaved pets welcome.
Notes: Wi-fi, towels, books and games and a starter pack of wood and kindling for the woodburner all provided.  Travel cot and highchair available to use.  Bicycles available for hire at the nearby Hill Farm.  Parents should be aware there is a fenced pond within the grounds which is not fully enclosed; therefore care must be taken with children at all times.

The village of Darsham is situated along the A12.  The local garage has a cafe with wi-fi as well as a shop.  The nearby Darsham Fox is a lovely village pub and Darsham train station gives good transport links from London to Lowestoft.  The popular villages of Westleton and Yoxford are close by, and the beautiful seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold are just a few miles away.

This was our third visit to Buttercup Lodge. So yes, we love it here and Suffolk in general. Peaceful, lovely fresh air, great location, good pubs nearby etc. We explored some different areas this time (along with others we had visited before). This included Darsham Marches, Snape Marshes, Boynton RSPB, and Church Farm Marshes. Saw some interesting art exhibitions too. Thanks Jaik.

Our second visit here, but this time we brought friends to Canola and pitch 3 on the CL. We all enjoyed the proximity to each other. The lodge is very well equipped, Jaik was able to sort out a couple of issues for us. There was milk, tea and coffee provided, but as seasoned self caterers we come with provisions. Handy for sandwich, nice walk to the Heath, Southwold Walkerswick and Aldeburgh for fish and chips. Snape Maltings a good visit too. Sure we will be back!!

A lovely well equipped cottage, everything we needed. Beds/settee's all really comfortable. Good food in The Fox (Darsham) and Poachers Pocket (near Saxmundham just off A12). Our firs stay but hopefully not our last. The only suggestion I would make is it would be nice to have a pint of milk, a couple of tea bags to start us off. Before we go out to do the big shop.
