Description

Located just 150 yards from Aldeburgh's seafront, along the Suffolk coast, sits this stylish two-bedroom property. From the outside its a pretty pastel fisherman's cottage and on the inside, it’s the ideal space for a couple, small family or friends who want to be close to the beach and amenities. Aldeburgh is a fashionable seaside town with a shingle beach and promenade. Swim in the sea, try your hand at sailing or sit on The Scallop sculpture and watch the fisherman unloading freshly caught fish from their boats. Alternatively, enjoy a round of golf at the 18-hole or nine-hole golf course. From Aldeburgh, you can pick-up the Sailor’s Path and enjoy a scenic 6-mile hike to the Snape Maltings. At the Maltings you can browse galleries, boutique stores, and antique shops. Walk along the coast and enjoy all the delights of neighbouring seaside village, Thorpeness, with its magical Peter Pan themed Meare where you can hire a canoe or rowing boat - hours of fun for the whole family!

The property’s pastel-painted façade offers a cheerful welcome and inside the interior is equally attractive. Whitewashed walls, swathes of natural light, and French vintage-style decor make the ground floor, open-plan living area a comfortable and chic space. The lounge is the perfect spot to unwind with its plump sofas, open fireplace, and chandelier lighting, and elegant touches abound with ornate mirrors and artwork on the walls. From the lounge, wood-panelled flooring sweeps through to the immaculate kitchen where you can prepare delicious meals and then serve them at the six-seater dining table. A sociable space, the kitchen/dining area features French doors and a skylight that floods the room in uplifting light. The elegance extends upstairs to the first floor where a king-size bed and twin beds are located. Both rooms are light and airy and adorned with delightful feature fireplaces. The king-size room has an en-suite bathroom and there’s also a separate shower room on this floor providing an equal bathroom to bedroom ratio.

Although there isn't a dedicated outside space at the cottage, you'll be just 150 yards from the beautiful beach. Open the rear patio doors, set up the small bistro set and sit and simply breathe in the sea air or watch the sunset at the end of a day.

Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.

Reviews

What a great cottage ,we could not have wished for more so well stocked with all of the equipment that you would need for a great stay. As we opened the cottage door we were greeted by a fabulous Christmas tree and lights all around the cottage and a fabulous welcome gift plus a tray for cooking the Christmas lunch in …… Thank you

Mrs W,

Great location, having been to Aldeburgh several time before. The Small shower, flooded, that needs looking at, the dishwasher had a fault and we were invaded by Ants. None of these small issues would prevent a re booking, the accomodation was lovely, charming and idealley located.
