Description

This characterful second floor apartment is very close to the beach and picturesque village of Croyde yet overlooks its own garden and the rolling countryside beyond. The Bolthole is part of a detached house and has its own private balcony as well as having use of a spacious lawned garden. Because it is at the top of the building, it features some sloping ceilings in parts adding a touch of style and character. The light and airy lounge has large picture windows, complete with comfortable cushioned window seats to sink into and enjoy the view which is also enjoyed from the well placed dining table and chairs. The kitchen with its high gloss red kitchen units, has a handy breakfast bar and a door opening out onto a spacious balcony which has a picnic table, reclining outdoor chairs and barbecue. The master bedroom has distant sea glimpses while the twin bedroom benefits from a door leading out onto the balcony. There is a modern bathroom with a shower over the bath for both rooms to share. The Bolt Hole is just a few mintues’ walk away from the village with its surf shops and choice of family friendly pubs and restaurants.  Croyde is famed for having one of the finest surf beaches in the world, with high profile surfers regularly visiting to catch some waves. The record holder for the biggest wave ever surfed, Andrew Cotton, is a regular visitor and professional surfer Lyndon Wake runs a surf school by the entrance to the beach where surf lessons can be booked in advance or on the day. For experienced surfers, just grab your board and hit the waves. A lifeguard is on patrol between May and September to ensure water safety is adhered to. Either end of the beach you will find little rock pools, always popular spot with young families. Here children can splash around to their hearts content, and create lasting memories of North Devon.

Reviews

The Bolthole is in an ideal location with lovely views. Good parking for 2 cars and near a bus stop if needed. We look forward to booking again in the future. Great service from the booking company as always.

Mr H,

The property we stayed in was exceptional . The service from the company was second to none , kept us informed right up to date of holiday starting.

Mr Andrew S,

Thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Bolthole in Croyde. The apartment was clean and well stocked and in a brilliant location to enjoy the beach.

Mrs Jenni W,

We are coming back to Croyde in September and would book again however the costs of renting during this period are too expensive. I appreciate this is due to the market. The apartment was ideal for what we needed last week and if we returned at a similar time of the year next year we would very happily rent again.

Mr John E,

Property was all good, well equipped and comfortable. It does baffle me that all these places by the sea put no thought into how customers are going to rinse and dry wetsuits and the like! Some large buckets, outside tap and a sturdy rail/ hooks both outside and over the bath would help and probably safe the shower fitting! I wouldn’t book with original cottages again because you basically lose a day with checkin 4pm and checkout 10am, unacceptable now since we are no longer in a pandemic. Just lazy on your part and means our holiday is shorter.

Mrs Nicola T,
