Description

Bay View is a spacious, modernised bungalow decorated in a fresh, contemporary style and with views over the surrounding countryside to the ocean beyond.  Situated in an elevated residential area of Combe Martin, a network of foot paths provide access down to the water front around 1/3 of mile away. There is a public pay carpark close to the beach, main shops, pubs and cafes of this popular resort. Also a convenience store/post office and the historic Grade II Pack O' Cards Inn, constructed to resemble a pack of cards, are about a quarter of a mile away.

Bay View provides light and airy accommodation with views being enjoyed from most rooms.  A newly fitted galley style kitchen provides ample workspace and everything you will need to prepare enjoyable meals or quick snacks at the breakfast bar.  The adjacent living/dining room is a good size with dining table and chairs where everyone can eat together before retiring on the comfy seating to enjoy the view. On balmy summer evenings why not dine alfresco in the garden whilst watching magnificent sunsets across the bay.  Access to the garden is via the kitchen and the main bedroom also has French doors leading directly out to the seating areas. This bedroom also benefits from en suite facilities. The second bedroom is set as a super-king, although can be twin bedded on request with distant sea views. Bedroom 3 has a single 2’6” bed with further pull out trundle single (both suitable for children), again this room also has distant sea views. There is a main family shower room.

The porch and a handy hall cupboard provide storage for outdoor/walking gear.  The tiered gardens which are laid with lawns, borders and rockeries surround the property and provide three sitting/eating areas with table and chairs. Your four legged friends are not forgotten either with their own safe fenced off section of lawn next to one of the bistro tables. There is an outside tap and hose for washing off sandy feet or wetsuits.

This popular coastal village is steeped in history and offers a good choice of facilities. The 2 miles long High Street is reputed to be the longest in the country and leads down to the small sand and shingle beach ideal for rockpooling, kayaking, paddle boarding or simply enjoying a dip in the sea. Dolphins have been known to visit along the coast. For a more exhilarating walk to the beach there is a slightly longer one from your holiday home via ‘Hangman’ Path taking you along the cliff on part of the South West Coast Path.  Others walks available include those to picturesque spots such as ‘Little Hangman’ and ‘Great Hangman’. Both the young and young at heart will enjoy a visit to the nearby Dinosaur Park whilst the family theme park at Watermouth Castle is just a short drive away.  Being located on the edge of Exmoor National Park, Bay View is also a scenic car ride from famous beauty spots including the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth.

Reviews

Loved staying here, have stayed twice now. The view is amazing, the house is very well equipped and spacious. Lovely garden for my children and dog.

Mrs W,

We have just returned from staying here and can not wait to book again. The property is very clean and fully equipped, everything has been thought of. The location is perfect with amazing views. Yes there is a hill to access it, my dad managed daily and he has a walking stick. It keeps you fit! Lovely pubs, restaurants and beaches nearby. Kids can go crabbing, swimming and SUP. There is also a doggie beach nearby. Woolacombe beach and watermouth castle are a short drive away if you wanted a change of scenery.

Mrs W,

If you are fit and active and enjoy a very peaceful stunning location with great views and lovely gardens this is for you. Also the property is very well equiped and cleaned to a high standard
