Description

Badgers Brook has plenty of space for a family of four plus two dogs – both inside and out. Situated on the edge of the pretty Exmoor village of Dulverton, this large bungalow overlooks the surrounding fields and countryside yet is just a short walk into the village with its pubs, supermarket, restaurants, tea rooms and art gallery. The spacious lounge is dual aspect and benefits from a log-effect electric fire to compliment the oil central heating on chillier evenings, whilst the dining room which is accessed via an archway from the lounge is great for more formal dining. A door from the dining room leads into a cosy conservatory which overlooks the garden and surrounding countryside. From the conservatory, sliding patio doors lead out onto a patio which catches the sun most of the day. Both the bedrooms are of a good size and both have large windows overlooking the garden.  A good sized shower room offers a large walk in shower, WC and basin. Outside, the extensive garden has a small unfenced stream running alongside one of the borders and plenty of space for children and four-legged friends to run freely. The village of Dulverton, known as the Southern gateway to Exmoor, is just a 10 minute walk away from Badgers Brook. It stands between the rivers Barle and Exe which converge a mile or so down the valley and has several streets of shops including a butcher, bank, Post Office, fish & chip shop, greengrocer, late-opening supermarket, restaurants, art gallery, hairdressers and a fishing tackle shop. The village is also home to the headquarters of the Exmoor National Park Authority and Visitor Centre, which is situated in the library and is well worth a visit. Around the back of the library, is the Guildhall Heritage and Arts Centre which is open seven days a week from early April to the end of October (with free admission) and gives visitors a taste of old Dulverton.

Reviews

Having been before we were not disappointed. Property is is in an ideal position and local facilities are excellent and very interesting. We will be returning for a longer time next year. Hope the weather is just as kind!.

Mr E,

Very nice bungalow. Very comfortable. Bit out of the way we felt to get to places. Lovely village, used the coop quite a lot. The only thing was it was not secure for the dogs. After saying that I should have checked.

Mrs C,

Last visited in September 2017 and not sure if this time it would be as good. It has been every bit as good - great location and well stocked clean bungalow. Thank you

Mr Graham N,

Have stayed at Badgers Brook on three or four occasions. Very comfortable and a very quiet location. Dulverton is positioned in a beautiful area, which is even better when the weather is with you. Pleasant and easy walk from the property into town and back again, obviously helped by the numerous watering holes within Dulverton. Love the area and we love going back.

Mr C,
