Aldeburgh and the surrounding area has inspired many authors and poets in the past but the most famous son of the town is Benjamin Britten who founded the Aldeburgh Music Festival which now has worldwide acclaim and is held every year in June at Snape Maltings. Fishermen still pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from the picturesque huts. The wide, mainly Georgian high street has many attractive buildings whilst the seafront properties all have commanding views of the beach and the North Sea. Boating is popular on the nearby Alde estuary where a large variety of yachts can be seen at summer weekends.

Reviews

Could have been informed of the extensive building works being carried out next door. This prevented us using the outside space during most of our stay. The property itself is ideal for couples, and ideally situated, but could do with more comfortable seating in the lounge.

Mr H,

A brilliant location just minutes from the beach & shops. The place had everything I needed for a solo stay - including a good selection of books ‘The Rings of Saturn’ (a book so set for this coastal landscape) amongst them. Even in February with just a bit of sun - the courtyard was a sun trap. Off street parking is an added bonus.

Ms D,

Very pleasant stay and comfortably furnished. Slight problem with the heat but was handled immediately.

Miss S,

Ideal short break holiday home perfect position in a busy town. We went in August but it was quiet and most importantly has off road parking a huge bonus. There is outdoor seating too. Kitchen equipment was ok we did not cook evening meals but could have if we chose. Would stay again and have already recommended it to our daughter and son in law.

Mrs R,

Suffolk Secrets were really helpful and their service is excellent. There was an issue with the TV in the property and they responded quickly and sent out an engineer on a bank holiday. The information provided with the booking and their communication was superb.

Mr B,

The big plus for us was the location and the parking space.
