Reviews

This flat has the most wonderful view of the sea. The flat has everything you need however If you are looking for luxury in the bathroom / bedroom / huge television it may not be for you. I stayed for a week on my own and it was perfect for rest and relaxation.

Ms G,

.

Ms H,

We have stayed in many properties in Southwold for over 10 years and apart from the view this accommodation must be the worst we have stayed in. Apart from the sofa, the furniture was not really fit for purpose and looked like leftovers from a house clearance with rusty bedside tables, rusty lamp and a broken dining chair. I can see some of these issues have been previously raised in online reviews and I would have expected them to have been resolved. Other observations are. The duvet cover is too big for the duvet. The bed frame is broken and needs replacing, the central support beneath the bed was broken and we had to prop the bed up with the stool to prevent us from collapsing into the centre of the bed. Oddly placed pictures which cover up damp, flaky walls. There was no milk on arrival. The TV instructions refer to a Panasonic TV when the TV in the flat is a Sony. Only one toilet roll was supplied for two people staying for a week.

Mr B,

WE HAD A NICE STAY, VERY WELL EQUIPPED. COULD DO WITH A NEW TABLE OR CLOTH AS THE SURFACE WAS STICKY ALL THE TIME & ALSO BLINDS AT THE 2 DOORS ESPECIALLY THIS TIME OF YEAR WITH THE DARK MORNINGS & EVENINGS. JUST A SHAME ABOUT THE BUILDING WORK THAT WAS GOING ON

Mrs H,

We had a very enjoyable time here for the second year running and would recommend it. The following notes are meant to be helpful rather than complaints: We couldn’t use the TV because we couldn’t get any sound. The treatment of the round table leaves it unpleasantly sticky. It would be useful to have two sets of keys. It would be useful to have a top sheet on the bed for hot nights when you don’t want a duvet. The bed is not long enough for anyone over six foot.

Mr B,

We greatly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable first floor apartment. The location couldn't be better, being close to the town centre and having wonderful views of the sea and pier. The welcoming goody bag was much appreciated and there was plenty of helpful practical information and suggestions for outings.

Mr B,

A few weeks ago I raised some concerns with you regarding the property as a result of a review I had seen referring to a number of issues they had allegedly raised with you. It appears that this was either not followed up or we have different standards as to what is acceptable. I wrote to you by email yesterday to highlight the rusty kitchen equipment (oven tray, sieve and grater) and the rusty bathroom bin. This is just lazy and cheaply fixed. The bedside tables and small tables in the living room also have rust marks, although some may class these as shabby chic. In addition 2 of the dining chairs need some attention. There is evidence of an attempted fix with glue but something more is required before someone does them-self an injury. There are a number of badly chipped plates in the cupboard. There are plenty of them so they wouldn’t be missed. Purely personal opinion, the TV is too small. We had to move it closer to the sofa to watch it. Marks on the floor suggest that others have maybe moved the sofa towards the TV in the past. We have stayed in a lot of UK self catering properties over the years and this is the first time I have felt compelled to write to the agent in such detail. Usually the welcome pack is enough to balance out small niggles, but not this time. This is a reflection on Suffolk Secrets rather than the cleaner who I suspect will be on a time limit so can only do so much. Equally the property owner can only respond to feedback if it is passed on by the agent. The information written by Suffolk Secrets was great, really useful thank you. But the folder was tatty and overflowing with the instruction manuals. The small box of leaflets is always welcome but most were very old and duplicated. The shower is well overdue to be repealed. The black marks are very off putting. The general cleanliness was ok but some areas need some attention especially the convector heaters under the storage heaters.

mrs Claire Q,

The apartment is perfectly situated, clean , bright and airy. I would recommend anyone to stay there. In my opinion it is badly let down by a few things. The crockery is a mish mash of items that look like they have come from a house clearance . Does a flat for 2 people need over 20 plates, 20 cups and half a dozen jugs? The bed and sofa were comfortable although well used. The side tables in the sitting room and bedroom were metal and they are rusty . There are odd things like a fabric magazine rack that appear to have been put in place because ther was a gap . The dining apple would seat 6- 8 comfortably. Again, it is a flat for 2 people . A much smaller table would maximise the beautiful window space. The shower worked well . The shower cubicle was very old and tatty looking ( albeit clean) . It could definitely benefit from an upgrade . A great apartment which could easily be a fabulous apartment. We had a great week in Southwold.

Mrs Alison S,

First class service, lots of information. Super position .

Mr Anthony V,

The only small niggle we had were the towels provided were poor quality and were very small for a bath towel. The location and the rest of the property were excellent and will rebook

Mrs Sarah B,

This property is of a poor standard with the decor and fittings being very tired and we have notified the management team with photographs to show the areas of concern. Otherwise the size and location of the flat was very good.

Mr S,

Have given equipment a lower score because I felt certain essential items were missing, ie a chopping board to avoid damage to the nice worktops. Only a small dishwashing sponge provided whereas a cleaning cloth would have been useful to wipe down properly. A lack of oven proof dishes if guests wanted to cook in and enjoy the view. Overall, very good and would book again.

Previous Customer,

Stayed before location great only thing to say is we think the bathroom needs updating

Mr M R,

We felt at home as soon as we walked in. Nice clean comfortable flat with fabulous sea views

Mrs Jackie M,

7 The Craighurst. Thanks very much for organising my stay, it was a lovely flat with a great view please pass on my gratitude to the owners.
