Nestled into one of north Norfolk’s most cherished and outstanding landscapes, rich in wildlife and beauty lies the stunning coastal village of Thornham, with Green Side Cottage at its heart. Less than 2 miles away from the RSPB Reserve at Titchwell, and with its own harbour and Nature Reserve, the cottage makes a fabulous base for exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are two award-winning pubs/restaurants in the village. Directly opposite the cottage is The Orange Tree and a short stroll away you can find The Lifeboat Inn. The village also hosts an excellent deli/village shop, a tennis court, and a children’s playground. There are plenty of beaches to choose from, one of the best is in Thornham itself, remote, beautiful and never crowded and just 3 miles away is Brancaster beach and keen golfers will enjoy the links golf course here too.
The cottage itself offers spacious rooms within its 300-year old walls, mixing the old seamlessly with the new. It has a large inglenook fireplace and wood burner in the living room, a football table to entertain young and old alike, a small outside space to watch the world go by on warmer days, and a well-equipped kitchen that will keep holiday cooks happy. Thornham is a quiet picturesque village that forms part of the conservation area on the North West Norfolk Coast. There is a wide sandy beach and a small harbour, both of which form part of a local nature reserve. There are 3 excellent eateries in the village; an award-winning gastro-pub, a pub/pizzeria and an old smugglers inn and restaurant. There is a lovely deli/village shop next to the children's playground and communal tennis court. There is also a delightful farm shop on the western edge of the village, with the Yurt restaurant, Gurney's fresh fish, Eric's fish and chips and an array of other shops. The coastal town of Hunstanton is just four miles away, it has a sandy beach and many attractions for children. The Coast Hopper bus can take you to Wells, the RSPB reserve at Titchwell and villages including Brancaster and Burnham Market, an excellent opportunity to leave the car behind and enjoy the scenery.
