Reviews

The cottage was just as detailed in the description if not better! Above all very clean and with everything working! Parking for 2 cars was a bonus. Location was lovely, peaceful and relaxing. Great communication throughout the booking process and emailing of information for arrival day. Couldn’t fault it all.

Mrs Sue B,

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location within the village. A cottage with sharp knives and gin glasses has to be a winner!

Mrs S,

A well equipped cottage in such a peaceful spot. Sleeps 6 comfortably. We were a party of 5 and 2of the party had mobility issues and the information on the property meant that we knew the stairs may cause an issue, but the down stairs loo solved this. The ramp to the main road was invaluable to support accessing the car for our party, so much easier than using the track at the back of the cottage, as this is where the parking is situated on a slope . All our party were happy with the location and cottage. Just a note the dining chairs are a little worn so we sank into them, but we solved that issue with cushions from the settee. These aided our card nights. Also the settees proved a little low for one of the party but a pillow solved that. The guest in question is in her early 80s , so we expected a few access issues. None of which spoiled our holiday. The cottage has a great view of the harbour from the sitting room, the garden offers a bigger sea view and the road has access to the walk to Dunstanburgh Castle, which the more able in our party did several times over the week. Even my 80+ year old aunt and 70+ mother- mobility issues managed a good distance on the level ish walk by the sea to the castle. The location is a great base for the area, nothing is more than half hours drive-Alnwick, Almouth, Amble, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Rothbury / cragside and Hawick were all visited. You’ll be spoiled for choice. As I told a friend I’ve found a new favourite place with amazing big skies. Craster is a little gem and I hope to be back to Hideaway. There were other cottages but I feel Hideaway has the best location. If you book it you won’t be disappointed .
