Description

Escape to this chic, coastal cool retreat in the wonderful village of Snape. Great for groups of friends or families, Mermaid Cove celebrates sociable and family living with a lovely open living space and welcomes three small dogs too!

Mermaid Cove is a modern and welcoming three-storey holiday home furnished to a very high standard throughout.  The property is ideally suited for families or groups of friends of up to six guests who appreciate a modern abode in which to relax and unwind on their self-catering break. The large living area on the ground floor provides guests with a cosy haven; the sitting room boasting plenty of comfortable seating surrounding a warming woodburner perfect for winter stays and glorious French doors leading to the patio, perfect for balmy summer escapes. Internal double doors create an open plan feel and lead through to the fully equipped kitchen and dining area with cream coloured kitchen units and wood flooring continuing the chic, quality feel.

There is a light, fresh feel to the first floor of Mermaid Cove; a large family bathroom and twin bedroom are complimented by a lovely master bedroom with its own En-Suite shower room. The spacious third bedroom can be found on the second floor and whilst ideal for younger guests, this room would also sleep two adults very comfortably on two full size single beds. Inside this versatile room is a great selection of traditional children’s games to keep the kids entertained during their holiday.

Mermaid Cove is a great choice for exploring Snape itself with its world-famous concert hall on the doorstep. For lovers of coastal towns Aldeburgh is just a 5 mile drive away. We are sure guests will love Mermaid Cove as much as we do and will want to return again and again. Shop: 0.3 miles Pub: 0.25 miles.

Snape is best known as the venue for the Aldeburgh Festival and for other events throughout the year held in the Maltings Concert Hall. However, the pretty village, at the head of the tidal estuary, is a popular holiday venue in its own right and central for exploring the unique area of the Suffolk Heritage Coast - the tidal estuary and network of footpaths are one of the most interesting areas of Suffolk for exploring on foot. There is easy access to the fascinating coastal town of Aldeburgh, plus castles and much more to explore at Framlingham and Orford. The burial treasures at Sutton Hoo, near Woodbridge, should not be missed either.

Reviews

Lovely cottage, nice area.

Mrs Y,

Lovely property. Great location near snape maltings and close enough to aldeburgh and the sea. House is large and well equipped - large bedrooms and lovely and bright. We had a great stay and look forward to returning.

Mr B,

Oven and grill need a good clean - Kettle unusable (was in a disgusting state) - some paintwork was grubby - garden needs tidying and has an ant problem which could affect the inside soon - tin opener old fashioned and unusable - windows have not been cleaned for months - Apart from that we enjoyed our stay but however with a little more care it could have been 10 out of 10 or indeed 5 star.

Mr Micheal W,
