Description
Ketlam View & Coach House offer the perfect solution for an exclusive stay for 14 guests in two beautiful holiday homes showcasing characteristics unique to the county. Ketlam View, built in the 1780’s from local carrstone (a particular feature of this area), is an attractive and luxuriously appointed farmhouse, perfect for a larger family or group of friends wishing to enjoy a holiday retreat in the beautiful countryside of north west Norfolk. The Old Coach House, also built from local carrstone, is located in the grounds of Ketlam View, and has recently been transformed into a comfortable, single storey three-bedroom chalet. Both properties have been lovingly finished with elegant interiors and modern appliances, while retaining the traditional charm and character of these historic buildings.
Across both properties, two living rooms and a cosy snug, with inglenook fireplace and two log burners, provide plenty of space to relax after a day exploring the Norfolk countryside and coast. Located on the grounds are a range of recreational facilities, including a heated indoor swimming pool and sauna, as well as a games room for table tennis, table football and darts. The gardens are large, mature and fully enclosed with patio areas providing the perfect environment for barbeques and al fresco dining. Children can play on two double swings and slides and explore the hidden corners of the gardens along with any four-legged family members who are most welcome.
The surrounding area offer views over fields as well as picturesque river and woodland walks nearby. You can enjoy a Reviving Facial or an Aromatherapy or Hot Stone Back Massage at the award winning Energise Pentney Spa which is only a 5-minute walk from Ketlam View. If you are celebrating a special occasion then Chef at Home by James Howe, a tried and tested private chef who knows the kitchen well, can take the stress out of cooking for a larger group, helping you to create an unforgettable experience which family and friends will remember for years to come. Pentney lies just 15 miles from the North Norfolk Coast which is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. Your choice of excellent sandy beaches is huge, the Coastal Path is great for walking and if you are feeling more energetic you could pick up the Pedders Way Walk. There are many nature reserves in the area, these along with the RSPB sites at Titchwell and Holme ensure that bird lovers will have a wonderful time. The sandy beaches of Snettisham, Heacham and Hunstanton are the closest, but a short drive across country makes Thornham and Brancaster accessible. Do take a visit to Sandringham, the Queen's home whilst in Norfolk. The house and grounds are well worth a visit and the Park is excellent for walking and off-road cycling - particularly safe for children. The local area offers wonderful woodland and river walks, excellent walking can also be found close at hand and the Quiet Lanes scheme in Norfolk offers good cycling in and around the village. Fly fishing and coarse fishing are available at the nearby Narborough trout and coarse lakes. Many places of historical interest lie in the surrounding area, including Castle Rising, Castle Acre Priory ruins, Houghton and Oxburgh Halls, Walsingham Abbey and Shrine ruins. Don't overlook Kings Lynn, the old town and harbour area are well worth a visit and of course the fuller facilities of a large town, restaurants, theatre and cafes are available.
